Tumpak Sewu Watervallen wat in Indonesische termen Duizend Watervallen betekent. De Tumpak Sewu waterval wordt ook wel de Cliff of Nirvana genoemd. Het is gelegen in Lumajang het duurt slechts 3 uur rijden van Malang. Tumpak Sewu Waterval heeft natuurlijke bronnen van Mount Semeru. De naam Tumpak Sewu betekent een waterval die zich opstapelt tot duizend. Niet verwonderlijk, het water leek te verbreden, als een getrapt gordijn. Het water stroomt en valt in een steile vallei die zich uitstrekt met een hoogte van 500 meter boven zeeniveau of ongeveer 120 meter.
Ontdek een verborgen juweeltje in Oost-Java genaamd Tetes Cave, het aanbieden van een unieke natuurlijke schoonheid van de watervallen.

Had an amazing “back to nature” experience visiting Indonesia’s magnificent Tumpak Sewu waterfalls on a dedicated one day tour from Surabaya. I had engaged Bima prior to visiting Surabaya to plan for this tour. On the day of the tour, my guide and driver Ray picked me up early in the morning from my hotel in Surabaya and headed first towards Malang on the national highway. It was a 3-4 hour journey to get to Tumpak Sewu via Malang. As we left the hotel early and it was a long journey, Ray very kindly offered me to stop for breakfast in Malang where we had very delicious Soto ayam, a local favorite meal. We also had adequate toilet breaks along the journey. Ray was very accommodating and flexible throughout the tour, which made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. The second leg of our journey from Malang to Tumpak Sewu was very scenic going through some jungle roads and plantations offering a lot of greenery and winding stretches. Ray was very professional and careful in navigating these roads bringing me safely to Tumpak Sewu and back to Surabaya. While at Tumpak Sewu, Ray followed me to the panoramic viewpoint where he helped me with some memorable photos and allowed me ample time to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the scenic waterfalls at my own leisure. Being there surrounded by lush greenery and dense forests on all sides while listening to the soothing sound of the waters gushing down from atop with fresh air was simply amazing! On our way back, we managed to also visit the nearby Kapas Biru waterfalls that offered a slightly different experience, something which Bima kindly offered as an inclusion in this tour. All in this was a very memorable tour for me and am grateful to Bima for planning this tour for me and to Ray for being such a wonderful guide.

I highly recommend this tour! 🙂 We had a special request to be picked up in Malang and dropped off in Surabaya at the end of the trip, and everything was perfectly organized. The journey was smooth and comfortable, and our driver, Raya, was extremely kind and helpful throughout the day. Our guide was very friendly, showed us some beautiful spots along the way, and even took amazing photos of us. We had a lot of fun chatting with him and learning more about the area while enjoying the breathtaking views. The Tumpak Sewu waterfall itself is absolutely stunning – definitely one of the most impressive natural sights we’ve ever seen. Be prepared to get wet on the way down, but trust me, the experience and the scenery are more than worth it.
