Port Arthur is een dorp en historische plaats, gesticht in 1830 op het schiereiland Tasman als strafkolonie en houtstation voor de bestraffing van veroordeelden. Nadat bosbranden en de elementen de gevangenis hadden weggevaagd, is het nu een openluchtmuseum geworden. Een goed bewaard gebleven stukje geschiedenis en door de Australische overheid op de werelderfgoedlijst geplaatst. Op de terugreis krijgt u vier van de bekendste natuurlijke wonderen van het Tasman-schiereiland te zien: de Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen, Blow Hole en Tessellated Pavement.

Na de lunch bezoeken we de Tasman Arch, de Blow Hole, de Devils Kitchen en de Tessellated Pavement. Het beste uitzicht op de ruige kustlijn is vanaf de vele bushwalks in het park.

My family and I had such a wonderful day with Graham touring Port Arthur and several other scenic views. He was very informative explaining different things in the area and Tasmania. We had a wonderful time and our guide was excellent. We were able to see some beautiful sites, have a great wine tasting and lunch and learned some of the history about Tasmania.
