It was easy getting to the train from Budapest to the town. The trip was about 40 minutes in an old charming train that stopped at every station. Good views of the countryside, but nothing of the Danube. The town itself is a fifteen minute walk from the train station. You cannot get lost as you just go through the tunnel under the road at the end of the station and then walk straight until you reach the town. It is a very charming town, filled with tourists, but an enjoyable trip. Remember, if you are over 65, you can use ALL public transportation in Budapest for free. What an unbelievable benefit!!!
Interesting city and great tour guides. Daniel and Daniella were very knowledgeable and treated us very well.
Great trip! Daniel was wonderful and professional picking us up in Vienna and taking us to Bratislava and back. The vehicle was comfortable and roomy. Daniella was a fantastic and very knowledgeable guide. Would highly recommend!
Knowledge of city and history, super friendly, very professional . Was very flexible about the trip.
Daniel our driver and Daniela our tour guide were both excellent! They both made this day trip a memorable experience, and one that I would highly recommend.
Dear Christopher! Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We hope you didn’t mind that the canceled Taylor Swift concert in Vienna led you to change your plans and visit Bratislava instead. We're grateful we could be a part of your unexpected adventure and we are glad you enjoyed your time with us! Hopefully, you’ll have the chance to attend a Taylor Swift concert next time! In the meantime, we’re happy we could help make your visit to Bratislava a memorable one.
Our driver, Evan, picked up my family of four at our hotel on time. Evan was nice and professional, but only knew a few words of English. That did not matter to us. Our guide, Eva, also met us at our hotel. We were kind of surprised at this, as we thought she was going to meet us in Bratislava. (Not a negative, just an observation.) We had a 1.5-hr trip, and Eva asked us if we'd like her to start the talking part of the tour immediately, or wait until we got closer to Bratislava. We asked her to go ahead and start. So she talked all the way. When we arrived, we drove around for part of the tour, and then Evan dropped us off so we could begin our walking tour. This all went fine. After Eva left us, we had time on our own to eat, shop, walk around, before meeting up with Evan to load up and finish our journey to Vienna, ending up at our hotel. The door-to-door service was great. If I had any critique, I'd only say that Eva talked ALL THE TIME. while we enjoy a thorough tour, she never took a break, even when it might be appropriate to do so. I wanted to tell her to take a breath every now and then. This is a small knock, and I hope it doesn't deter someone from taking this tour, because overall, we were happy with everything. I guess when you're more of an introvert like me (and the rest of my family), it's just an adjustment to be around someone going 90 mph. Please understand this was just from our perspective, and it may be 100% what the next customer would want. Again, over all, this was solid, and we appreciated the work of both of the capable people who took care of us. It was also very nice to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel.
Dear David! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the overall tour, especially the convenience of the door-to-door service and the professionalism of both driver Evan and guide Eva. Normally, you would meet your guide in Bratislava, but since we didn’t have an English-speaking driver available for your day trip, we decided to provide you with a guide for the entire journey from Vienna to Bratislava. We understand that some travelers want to learn as much as possible during their tour, while others prefer a more relaxed pace. It can sometimes be challenging for the guide to find the right balance, especially when the group has diverse interests. For example, when families with kids or teenagers are on tour, parents might be interested in different things than the children. Eva tried to make the tour engaging for both parents and teenagers, which may have led to the impression that the tour was a bit too informative. Your experience might have been different if you had been able to converse more easily with an English-speaking driver on the way, and then met the guide in Bratislava as we normally do. We’re glad that the tour met your expectations overall, and we truly appreciate your understanding that different guests have different preferences. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you and your family again in the future for another adventure, tailored to your comfort! Thank you again for your kind words and constructive feedback. We always strive to match our tours to the preferences of our guests, and your feedback is valuable in helping us fine-tune our services.
Fully recommended. We were picked up at the Vienna hotel at the agreed time for the Bratislava tour. Everything was perfect. Our driver Daniel, friendly and attentive at all times, was explaining things to us throughout the journey. Already in Bratislava joined our guide, Daniela, equally very friendly and professional. Thank you both so much for making this excursion an unforgettable day!
What a wonderful excursion from Vienna! Our river and guide were both amazing and extremely knowledgeable about Slovakia and Bratislava! The tour hit all of the important sites outside of thenOld City by auto and then covered all of the. In the Old City by foot. Our guide did an excellent job of making the tour interesting and informative. She was also willing to answer any questions that we had and gave us some great recommendations for lunch and for shopping. Our driver was very prompt, very engaging and was willing to relay our departure for us so that we could shop a little more. We have taken many Viator tours and this has been our favorite by far!
Daniel and Daniela were a perfect team. Professional, friendly, informative and wonderful conversationists. The trip was perfect. If you are lucky enough to get Daniel and Daniela as your guides, you will thoroughly enjoy this tour!
Bratislava is a very beautiful city. Not great, you visit in one day, at most in two. I point out the blue church, the castle, the cathedral, the center. With OBB you can get a round trip ticket from Vienna to Bratislava, journey time about 1 hour. The train leaves from Wien hbf station and costs 18 euros per person. With the same ticket, on the first day of stamped validity (it is valid for four days, during which you can freely decide on which day to use it) you can use Bratislava public transport without paying anything. I recommend taking your ticket, as an alternative to the web, the night before at the station or at another OBB ticket office. In the hbf station they are open until late in the evening and have an Information Service of unique efficiency. Bratislava is also considerably cheaper than Vienna, so it might be an idea to sleep there and go to Vienna by train, even for two days, making a 48-hour ticket (14 euros) for local transport in Vienna and visit it far and wide (capillary and punctual transport), why not? Have a nice trip.
