Dagtocht van Casablanca naar Rabat

Rabat is de hoofdstad van Marokko, en je volledige dagtour zal deze stad verkennen, beginnend vanuit Casablanca. Hoogtepunten van uw reis zijn; een bezoek aan een aantal historische monumenten, archeologische vindplaatsen en oude ruïnes. We nemen je ook mee naar de Hassan II-moskee op weg naar Rabat vanuit Casablanca. Tijdens deze reis zult u genieten van het zien van de rijke cultuur van Rabat. De reis gaat door tot je aankomt in Medina, waar je het Mohammad VI Museum voor Moderne en Hedendaagse Kunst bezoekt. Het is aan te raden om een goed schoeisel aan te trekken vanwege de korte wandelingen die u zult maken tijdens de rondleiding door deze prachtige stad.

In opdracht van Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur, de derde kalief van het Almohaden-kalifaat in 1195, was de toren bedoeld als de grootste minaret ter wereld, samen met de moskee, ook bedoeld als 's werelds grootste.
De Chellah of Shalla (Berberse talen: Sla of Calla; Arabisch: شالة), [1][2] is een middeleeuwse versterkte moslimnecropolis in het stedelijk gebied van Rabat, Marokko, aan de zuidkant (links) van de Bou Regreg estuarium. De Feniciërs vestigden op de plaats een handelscentrum.[3] [4] Dit was later de locatie van een oude Romeinse kolonie[5] in de provincie Mauretania Tingitana.
De Kasbah van de Udayas Qasbat al-Awdāya, [1] ook al-Widaya) (ook gespeld als "Oudaias" of "Oudayas") is een kasbah (citadel) in Rabat, Marokko. Het is gelegen aan de monding van de rivier Bou Regreg, tegenover Salé, en grenzend aan de oude medina van Rabat. Het staat, samen met andere locaties in Rabat, op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO.
Dâr-al-Makhzen is de belangrijkste en officiële residentie van de koning van Marokko. Het is gelegen in de Touarga-gemeente van Rabat, de nationale hoofdstad. De officiële naam is El Mechouar Essaid Palace, wat de locatie van het gelukspaleis betekent.

We were picked up at 0900h, got to Rabat shortly after 1000h. Met our guide and started tour around 1030h. The our started at Hassan Tower with a wonderful history and some free time to wonder into the mausoleum and general area. Then we were driven to the Kasbah with a walk around. It felt like a quiet walk around the old city. The 3rd stop was the local market, with again a quite walk through. The tour was finished at 1245h and we were back in Casablanca by 1400h. It would have been nice to visit other sites such as the palace (which was unfortunately closed because the king was in Rabat), the lighthouse, a walk along the river and a bit more interaction from our guide.
We took a one day tour from Casablanca to Rabat on 10 April. The driver, sorry forgot his name, arrived on time and six of us (5 adults and 1 baby) sat comfortably in the black Mercedes Van. Unfortunately one of our passengers had diarrhea and the driver had to pull over for him to rest. The sick had to take a cab home. Throughout this period, the driver was very helpful and provided all the necessary assistance. The Mausoleum of Mohammed V is magnificent with intricate craving and Moorish design. We spent most of the time in the Kasbah of the Udayas wondering in the alleyways of this 12-century old city. Beautiful blue houses, lots of flowers and handicraft shops. On the way back we enjoyed the view of the beautiful Atlantic coast and stopped for a late lunch at a local seafood restaurant. Full of local patrons, yummy seafood and cheap!!! Overall a very pleasant day trip.
