Ontdek de locaties in Peñíscola waar Game of Thrones is gefilmd. We bezoeken het stadje Peñíscola vanuit Valencia; het is een van de mooiste stadjes van Spanje, gelegen aan de kust, en de oude binnenstad is ommuurd. Je leert meer over de geschiedenis van de stad en haar meest karakteristieke gebouwen. De oude stad lijkt op Santorini in Griekenland. Tijdens de rondleiding door Peñíscola word je begeleid door een officiële gids met een gidslicentie. U bezoekt ook het beroemde kasteel van Paus Luna, waar Paus Luna (Benedictus XIII) zijn toevlucht zocht. Het is een van de best bewaarde kastelen van Spanje en tevens het laatste kasteel dat door de Tempeliers is gebouwd. U leert meer over de geschiedenis van de Tempeliers en Paus Luna. Met een officiële en geaccrediteerde gids die je de oude stad, de GOT en het kasteel laat zien en erover vertelt, in tegenstelling tot andere rondleidingen zonder geaccrediteerde gids die je niets over Peñíscola laten zien of vertellen. We gaan op pad met minimaal 2 personen, we doen de tour met een kleine groep.

Het vervoer van Valencia naar Peñíscola duurt 1:30 uur.
We bezoeken het oude centrum van Peñíscola, waar ik je de geschiedenis ervan zal vertellen. Je kent ook de plaatsen waar Game of Thrones werd gefilmd. Je kunt door de straten lopen en prachtige foto's maken en enkele belangrijke gebouwen bekijken.
We stoppen om te eten in een restaurant.
We zullen het kasteel van binnen bekijken. Met teksten ken je het hele kasteel. Elke kamer in het kasteel wordt geleverd met teksten in het Spaans en Engels waarin wordt uitgelegd wat elke kamer was, in het kasteel lees je de borden en bekijk je video's.
Je hebt een uur vrije tijd om de kasteeltuin te bezoeken, te winkelen, een wandeling door de oude stad te maken of naar het strand te gaan.
Als we klaar zijn, keren we terug naar Valencia, waar het 1:30 uur duurt om hetzelfde ontmoetingspunt te bereiken.

It was a beautiful tour and if you love Game of Thrones, this tour is for you! There were many non-show related things to see but the scene places were quite cool as well. The ride is about 1.5 hours and you do a quick restroom break in the middle of the ride which is much appreciated. Our guide was Toni, and he was spectacular. He was kind and patient with my partner and I after being late. (Totally our fault). He was understanding and thankfully a great coordinator because our tour was unaffected by our interruption. Toni did a wonderful job of explaining things on the tour, taking pictures for us and adding in extra conversation and facts. He was truly an amazing guide. I highly recommend this tour if you’re into Game of Thrones and want to also see the castle! The place we ate lunch at was yummy and had a great view. (Note: there is a beautiful beach in Peñíscola, if you go straight there after the castle you might have time to get in, and you only have 1 hour of free time, we wanted to get in but the time was flying)

Very nice tour with our gide Toni, he did the tour with passion and humor and we enjoyed it. Peñiscola is a beautiful little town. Good food, nice group and a very good gide! Could spend days there instead of hours.

Antonio, Tony, was an excellent guide! This was an amazing trip. It does have a lot of walking including lots of uneven surfaces so listen to the warnings in the description. The photo opportunities are priceless.

This was an excellent excursion and one of the highlights of our time in Spain. As cruise passengers, we had a limited schedule, and our guide went above and beyond to accommodate us. He thoughtfully rearranged the itinerary so that all of the guided portions of the tour took place at the beginning of the excursion, allowing us to leave early and return to our ship with plenty of time. His flexibility and consideration were greatly appreciated. The tour itself was comprehensive and engaging, providing an excellent overview of the historic castle and old town of Peñíscola. Fans of Game of Thrones will especially enjoy learning about the filming locations and seeing the settings that appeared in the series. Even for those unfamiliar with the show, the history and architecture of the castle are fascinating. Peñíscola is a charming coastal city with beautiful views, picturesque streets, and a relaxed atmosphere. It is well worth visiting in its own right. If you have already explored Valencia and are looking for something different, this tour offers a refreshing change of pace and a chance to experience one of Spain's most attractive historic seaside towns.

We went to Peñíscola with my husband and were enchanted. The guided tour with Toni was the highlight of the trip: his ability to tell the stories of the Templars and Pope Luna transported us back in time. In addition to the beauty of the castle (which fans of 'Game of Thrones' will recognize immediately!), we greatly appreciated the human aspect of the trip, meeting friendly travelers from Argentina and London. And of course, a true Valencian Paella could not be missing, enjoyed in a perfect setting. A 5-star experience!

Very great tour from start to finish. We had a smaller group, it was so fun to learn about everyone else that joined us. Our guide was super knowledgeable on everything we passed by, pointed out many areas of interest on the way to and from our destination, and drove very well. It was definitely a full day but didn't feel overwhelming. We had many opportunities to explore and learn while having an excellent experience. Thank you!
