Keniaanse thee is wereldwijd bekend en de Kiambethu-theeboerderij behoort tot de oudste van het land en dateert uit 1910. Begin uw reis met ophalen van uw centrale hotel in Nairobi op tijd voor vertrek om 9.45 uur. Reist u comfortabel in een privévoertuig, reis dan ongeveer 45 minuten naar Limuru, gelegen op 2195 meter boven de zeespiegel. Bij aankomst in the Kiambethu Tea Farm volg je je gids tijdens een wandeltocht door de plantage. Luister naar de geschiedenis van de boerderij, die in 1910 door AB McDonell is opgezet en nog steeds door dezelfde familie wordt gerund, en leer meer over het telen, plukken en verwerken van de theebladeren. Terwijl je de boerderij verkent, moet je uitkijken naar exotische vogels en Colobus-apen. We had a very nice trip to the Kiambethu Tea Farm with our guide Jane. The pick up and drop off to our hotel was very well organised and on time. The visit was very interesting and set in a beautiful location. Lunch was also very good. We would recommend African Beast.

My family had the most excellent day from the start of our trip. Our driver Jane was prompt and very safe driving us to and from the Tea Farm. The Tea Farm was also such an excellent experience with a lot to learn about tea from Fiona, to see the farm itself with a tour from Stephen, tasting tea, and such a delicious meal lead by Joseph. Each tour guide and host was nicer than the next. We finished the day off with a safe and comfortable journey back to Nairobi with Jane’s help. Highly recommend!

This was easily the best part of the tour for us in Kenya, and that's saying something cos we had a lovely time in Maasai Mara too. The staff is lovely, the food is excellent, the tour itself is informative, the place and weather are sublime. All in all, definitely definitely do this. It's the most value for money experience you'll have and the dogs on the property are an adorable bonus

A very interesting visit with plenty of information about tea and its production. The lunch was delicious, and the tea tasting was excellent. The walk through the forest was fascinating, and the guide was fantastic
