Ontschep in Kumrovec, een historisch dorp dat is omgetoverd tot een openluchtmuseum van antieke huizen, bekend als hize, uit de 19e eeuw Na het ophalen bij je hotel in Zagreb maak je de reis naar Kumrovec, een bewaard gebleven openluchtmuseumdorp met 19e- en 20e-eeuwse huizen. Bezoek de geboorteplaats van Josip Broz Tito en leer over zijn opkomst naar roem en de geschiedenis van communistisch Joegoslavië. Je ziet ook zijn basisschool, arboretum waar hij publieke figuren hostte, en een groot bronzen standbeeld ter ere van hem. Antieke huizen, genaamd hize, vertegenwoordigen de geschiedenis van Kroatië. Elk huis vertelt een verhaal van het boerenleven en ambacht, zoals aardewerk, wielmakers, smeden en speelgoed maken, dat een beschermd cultureel erfgoed is. Na een bezoek aan Kumrovec, alleen in mei, nemen we u mee op het magische ROZENpad waar u de geuren van de velden met damastrozen kunt ervaren en prachtige rozenproducten kunt kopen!

Had a really nice day trip. Kumrovec is a beautiful little village with lots of history and a very relaxing atmosphere. Everything was well organized and the guide was friendly. Definitely worth visiting if you want to see something different near Zagreb.

The ethnic town/museum is spectacular: beautiful (nature and buildings) and perfectly preserved. I wanted to go because I am especially interested in Tito's history, but the museum is super interesting even if his house was not there, because it perfectly shows what life was like for Croatian villagers in the 19th century (mainly, but also 20th). The guide too, super nice; and after the visit to the ethnic village, he took me (I was alone) to an event in which different wine producers in the area presented their wines and competed for which was the best. There I was able to drink everything I wanted, eat some local food and listen to live music. Everything delicious, everything beautiful. I recommend 100%.
