Op de eerste dag haalt uw gids u op bij de haven/hotel van Alexandria. Onze gids wacht op u in de haven en houdt een bord vast met uw naam erop. Dan begint uw tour. je kunt je tour naar wens aanpassen. Je kiest 4 plaatsen uit deze plaatsen: Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria National Museum, Catacomben, Pompay's Pillar, Fort Qaitbay, Montaza Gardens, St. Mark Cathedral en Abu el Abbas-moskee. Als u van lunchen houdt, neemt uw gids u mee naar het Sea Food-restaurant met uitzicht op de zee. Ons bedrijf biedt u een gratis rondleiding aan naar de Joodse Tempel, het graf van de onbekende soldaat en het Mohammed Ali-plein. Aan het einde van de tour zet uw gids u af in uw hotel of haven.

De Grote Bibliotheek van Alexandrië werd gesticht in de 3e eeuw voor Christus, kort na de stichting van de stad als nieuwe hoofdstad van Egypte door Alexander de Grote. Het wordt beschouwd als een van de grootste prestaties in de erfenis van het oude Alexandrië sinds de bibliotheek en de Mouseion, de grotere leerinstelling waarvan de bibliotheek deel uitmaakte, worden gecrediteerd voor het behoud van de meeste kennis van de antieke wereld.
Het Romeinse theater was een zeer belangrijke ontdekking in de 20e eeuw. Het is bewezen dat het theater werd gebouwd sinds de 4e eeuw na Christus en werd gebruikt tot de 7e eeuw, voorbij de Romeinse, Byzantijnse en islamitische tijdperken.
Montazah Palace ligt te midden van uitgestrekte tuinen en kijkt uit over een werkelijk prachtig stuk kust. Gebouwd aan het begin van de 20e eeuw door Khedive Abbas II, een familielid van koning Farouk, combineert het paleis Turkse en Florentijnse architectuur: de centrale toren is geïnspireerd op het Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.

Deze enkele kolom die op een rotsachtige heuveltop in het midden van Alexandrië staat, heeft niets te maken met de Romeinse consul en generaal Gaius Pompeius, die Julius Caesars rivaal was in een burgeroorlog en werd vermoord door een Ptolomaïsche farao in 48 voor Christus toen hij naar Alexandrië vluchtte.
Qaitbay Fort Alexandria is een van de belangrijkste verdedigingsbolwerken. Het is niet alleen in Egypte. maar ook langs de Middellandse Zeekust.
Het museum bestaat uit 3 niveaus: de kelder met faraonische artefacten, de begane grond met de Grieks-Romeinse schatten en de 1e verdieping met relikwieën uit het Koptisch-christelijke en islamitische erfgoed van Egypte, evenals enig inzicht in de kostbaarheden achtergelaten door De familie van koning Farouk vóór de revolutie van 1952.

Absolutely fantastic tour! Naelah was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and very kind. Went to the serrapeum, catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, roman ampithetre and bibliotheca Alexandrina. All we amazing and highlight by Naelahs knowledge and recounting of history. 100% would recommend and do again!

We had a lovely and relaxing shore excursion with Maha in Alexandria. Maha was very striving and flexible in the design of the day and gave us nice insights to the main sights (catacombs and Biblioteca Alexandrina ..) but also to local markets, shops and mosques. Her German was excellent. We had chosen this agency especially as it was the only one on Viator that offered individual excursions in German. A very successful day

The experience when you have a wonderful guide is much better than when you try to do it yourself or have a “not so good” guide. Mohammed was wonderful, informative and very enthusiastic.
