De Daily Ephesus Tour vanuit Istanbul is een dagtour die je meeneemt naar een van de best bewaarde oude steden ter wereld, gelegen aan de Egeïsche kust van Turkije. De tour begint vroeg in de ochtend met een pick-up van je hotel in Istanbul en een transfer naar de luchthaven voor een vlucht naar Izmir. Bij aankomst wordt u opgewacht door uw gids en chauffeur en naar Efeze gebracht, waar u aan een rondleiding door de oude stad begint. Nadat je Efeze hebt verkend, lunch je in een lokaal restaurant en bezoek je vervolgens het Huis van de Maagd Maria en de Tempel van Artemis voordat je terugkeert naar het vliegveld voor je vlucht terug naar Istanbul. Efeze, was de tweede grootste stad in het Romeinse rijk meer dan 250.000 mensen in de 1e v.Chr. Rangschikking alleen achter Rome was het de tweede grootste stad ter wereld. Efeze was ook een havenstad. En deze gigantische stad werd alleen gebouwd met marbel. Wist je dat Efeze een grootste amfitheater in de antieke wereld had met meer dan 25.000 zitplaatsen. Tempel van Artemis of Artemision, ook bekend als de tempel van Diana, was een Griekse tempel gewijd aan de godin Artemis. Het was gelegen in Efeze en het was een van de zeven wereldwonderen.
Het huis van de Maagd Maria, is een plaats waar volgens de overtuigingen van veel mensen Maria, de moeder van Jezus, haar laatste jaren van haar leven doorbracht. Ze werd verondersteld samen met St. John in Efeze aan te komen en woonde daar in de jaren 37-45 CE tot haar veronderstelling of Dormition.

Erdem was a wonderful guide, exceeding our expectations at every turn. He is smart, knowledgeable, focused, and friendly. We can’t imagine touring Ephesus with anyone better steeped in the history of the site and the myths that surround it. An extra plus was his intimate knowledge of the past and present archeological projects. He clearly has a passion for his subject and makes an effort to stay connected to the archeologists and their ongoing work. Importantly, it’s a pleasure to spend the day with him since he is both professional and easy company. We recommend him highly and without reservation. Note: We were initially reluctant to visit the carpet school that Erdem suggested, fearing a “hard sell” environment. As it turned out, it was interesting and we didn’t feel pressured at all. We were treated to a delicious lunch on the lovely site, which rounded out our day nicely.

We had an amazing day with our guide erdem. He picked us from the airport and informed us about the program and explained everything smoothly we visited ephesus the house of maria and st john church. His knowladge and english was perfect plus he was funny and loves all the stray animals in ephesus he even had cat food with him aswell. We went also to a carpet school for lunch. Without any stress or obligation they gave us a detailed information about the handcraft. Was also a highlight of the day

I expected only a ephesus tour, but got a tour of the whole area I saw the remains of the Temple of Artemis which was nearby and I didn’t know it was there, the restaurant was the best one so far, and the guide Ardem helped us a lot and explained everything totally recommended
