the driver was late picking us up after being told we had to be in lobby by 7pm and would be picked up by 7:30pm, finally turned up at 7:45pm. Found our way to counter to collect tickets. Meal was disappointing, my husband had the chicken and it was dry, the pumpkin soup was nice, the fruit platter to finish was 2 pieces of pineapple and 4 slices of dragon fruit. We never received the drinks that were supposed to come with meal and getting someone's attention was not easy. Not sure what brand of spirits they use put could not drink it and I enjoy a good whiskey. I would not call the show cultural although it was pleasant to watch, it was short. Best part was the 3 piece band playing with national instruments to modern songs.
I booked the luxury cruise dinner show through GetYourGuide. Unfortunately, I ended up paying approximately twice the standard price, and there was no show. Overall, I felt that the experience had been seriously misrepresented and that I had been significantly overcharged. I contacted the company by email to request an explanation and appropriate assistance. However, after receiving a rather confrontational response from a staff member named Cindy, I have not received any further replies. To avoid similar issues, I would recommend booking directly with the cruise operator. After boarding, a staff member kindly explained the menu and confirmed the serving times, so I initially appreciated the attentive service. However, the steak was served before the appetizer salad, and although we were told that the main course would be lobster, we were served salmon instead. We paid approximately $140 for two people for the luxury dinner plan, but the only beverage provided was water. I had expected to enjoy a show while having dinner, but in reality, the experience consisted of disappointing food, music, water, and a beautiful view. If your main priority is enjoying the scenery, there are cruise-only plans available as well. I would strongly recommend researching the available options carefully before making a reservation.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations and would like to clarify several important points for future travelers. Poseidon Cruise Danang is the official cruise operator and we also have an official listing on GetYourGuide, identifiable by the operator name POSEIDON CRUISE DANANG shown on the activity page. We have carefully checked our team records and can confirm that we do not have any staff member named “Cindy.” This suggests that the communication mentioned in your review may have been with a third-party reseller rather than directly with our operating team. Prices offered by independent resellers may also differ significantly from our official rates, and unfortunately we cannot control the markup applied by those sellers. Regarding the entertainment, there were dates when performances and entertainment activities were required to be suspended due to national mourning observances. Our operating team informed our guests and distribution partners accordingly. We regret if this information was not clearly passed on to you by the seller through whom the reservation was made. For the most accurate product information, pricing and support, we recommend booking through our official Poseidon Cruise Danang listings, including our official Viator channel. We respect your experience and feedback, but we also hope this clarification helps future travelers distinguish between the cruise operator and independent third-party sellers when making their reservation.
Booking with Tripadvisor was expensive, look around much cheaper options available. The boat cruise was well worth doing, got seated very quickly and food came out in a very timely fashion and was excellent, we did the more expensive dinner of crayfish but worth it. The dragon Fire and Water show was very disappointing. Music upstairs was loud but not enough to annoy me.
Bad experience with this company, we made the reservation without dinner and the same day they canceled the reservation, they told us that it was going to rain and asked if we wanted to cancel and we said that not but still canceled, the excuse was that our table was out there but I booked without dinner and there was no option to choose a table. I do not recommend because on the same day you can stay without reservation, when we asked why to cancel they said they were already full. It makes no sense to book and cancel on the same day because they are full
The cost of this dinner cruise is far more than it should be for a mediocre meal that was lukewarm and lacking taste, included one warm beer and an hour-and-a-bit cruise. We did think free-flowing beer was included and found that it wasn't when we received the tickets. Prior to the cruise happening, we had asked for a refund and were advised no refund could be offered as it was too late - we requested the day before the cruise when we realised the mistake. So we thought okay, we'll deal with that and move forward to enjoy the cruise. The staff were pleasant, but would benefit from training on handling being told that food was not to standard - when we told the waitress, she smiled and said "that is great to hear...okay?". No, it was not okay. One member of our party experienced vomiting on the return journey to our hotel; the other three were okay, but then they did not eat the lukewarm food. The ladies' toilet was not flushing - another strike! A couple seated next to our table voiced that it was a very unsatisfactory Vietnamese experience. A table of four on the other side couldn't wait for the cruise to finish. There are many dinner cruises on the river, and I would hope that we simply chose the wrong one, or it was just a very bad night being had by the operator. Everyone has to make their own decisions, and I am sure some people do/will enjoy this particular dinner cruise.
We booked a 530 Sunset cruise as we were leaving after got there on time saw the kiosk Person advised booking was changed to 730 nighttime cruise we couldn’t go as would of missed connecting trans port did or money in Not happy
Dear Stephen, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience and would like to clarify an important point for future guests. Poseidon Cruise does not operate or sell a 5:30 PM sunset cruise under this experience. The cruise time offered for this product is 8:30 PM, and the departure schedule is clearly stated in the tour description and booking information provided on Viator. Therefore, your reservation was not changed by our team from 5:30 PM to an evening departure after your arrival. There appears to have been a misunderstanding regarding the scheduled time of the experience. Our staff at the counter simply informed you of the actual departure time associated with the tour that had been booked. We completely understand that this was particularly disappointing as you had onward transportation arrangements and were unable to wait for the scheduled cruise. However, we would like to reassure future travelers that we do not change confirmed departure times from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM without notice — a 5:30 PM departure was not offered for this particular product in the first place. We always encourage guests to review the departure time shown in the activity description and booking confirmation when planning connecting transportation. We regret the misunderstanding and hope this clarification provides a more complete picture of what occurred. Warm regards, Poseidon Cruise Danang Team
Overall a good experience Service was good, could improve . the traditional band and performers were excellent
Dear Wayne, Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the traditional music and performances on board. We also truly appreciate your feedback regarding the service. Your comments are valuable to us and will be shared with our team as we continue improving the guest experience. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you aboard Poseidon Cruise again on your next visit to Da Nang! Warm regards, Poseidon Cruise Danang Team
I understand the crew of this ship speak Vietnamese, but if you are going to play African-American Rap music and cater to English speaking tourists, you should get an interpreter to help you understand the vulgar words these songs are “Rapping”. “I want you to f*** me”, “f*** me” and “it’s my pu***” are NOT lyrics most English speaking people would want our kids to be hearing as we cruise the river. Also there are 10-15 different companies out here at this place, many of the other ones have what I would call much better suited seating layout for viewing the Dragon bridge. I would recommend visitors go see what is available before purchasing. And one final complaint on that fact, there are MANY ticket booths prior to the pier Ticket check, why not fully explain this before we walk all over the place. I would never guess there would be 10 ticket booths outside the pier that are important….they looked like food, souvenir shops, not a place to exchange my email for paper tickets.
Dear Rick, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry that some aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide some additional context for future guests. Regarding the music, we sincerely apologize for any inappropriate lyrics that may have appeared in the playlist. This was never intended to cause discomfort, particularly for families traveling with children. We have taken your feedback seriously and reminded our entertainment team to review music selections more carefully to ensure a more family-friendly atmosphere. With regard to the Dragon Bridge view, we understand that the show can also be enjoyed from several public locations along the river. However, the Poseidon experience is designed as more than simply a viewing point: it combines a cruise along the Han River, dinner, onboard entertainment and the opportunity to experience the Dragon Bridge show from the water. Different vessels naturally have different layouts and viewing angles, so we always encourage guests to select the experience that best matches their preferences. We would also like to clarify the comment regarding the ticket counter. Our team contacted you via WhatsApp before the cruise and sent the exact boarding location and directions to the Poseidon counter. The Poseidon counter is also the first designated cruise counter in the check-in area, making it one of the easiest to locate upon arrival. As there are several other booths and businesses around the pier, we understand that our counter may simply have been overlooked at first. Nevertheless, we appreciate this feedback and will continue improving our pre-arrival instructions to make the process even clearer. We regret that these points affected your overall impression, but we hope this clarification provides future travelers with a more complete understanding of the experience. We value all guest feedback and will continue working to provide a comfortable, enjoyable and well-organized cruise for both international travelers and families. Warm regards, Poseidon Cruise Danang Team
The company did not inform us that the ticket office had moved, we had to have our taxi driver call them to find the new location. Once on board the boat there was a power outage and then to make things worse the vessel crashed into another vessel in the middle of the cruise on the Han river.
Dear Katherine, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry that a few brief operational circumstances affected your overall impression of the cruise, and we would like to clarify them for future travelers. Regarding the boarding location, the pier had recently been changed, and our team sent the updated location directly to you via WhatsApp prior to departure. We regret any inconvenience or confusion this may still have caused during your arrival. Concerning the power interruption, this was not a technical breakdown. It occurred during the transition from the shore-side electrical connection to the vessel’s onboard power supply before departure. The interruption lasted less than two seconds, after which the electrical system continued operating normally. We would also like to clarify that the incident described as a “crash” was a very light and brief contact with another vessel while maneuvering in and out of the pier. Boats are berthed relatively close together in this area, and the contact was minor rather than a serious collision. The cruise was able to continue as scheduled. We fully understand that experiencing several unexpected moments in one evening can influence a guest’s overall impression. However, these were brief and isolated operational situations, rather than issues that reflect the usual Poseidon Cruise experience. We appreciate your feedback and continuously work to make our communication and boarding procedures as clear and seamless as possible for every guest. Warm regards, Poseidon Cruise Danang Team
The boat was really loud with party music on the top deck. It was hard to have a conversation. The boat was full, so you were stuck at your table. There are a lot better places to watch the Dragon Breathe fire then on the boat. We couldn’t really get a good full picture of the bridge unfortunately. Honestly, would not do it again.
Dear Kelly, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the music volume and seating situation affected your evening. This cruise is designed as a lively night cruise experience with dinner, music and views of the Han River, so the atmosphere on board can be more energetic, especially on the top deck and during busy nights. That said, we understand that some guests may prefer a quieter setting where it is easier to have a conversation, and we will review the sound level with our onboard team. Regarding the Dragon Bridge fire show, the viewing angle can sometimes be affected by river traffic, assigned anchoring positions and the number of boats operating on the same evening. Our team always tries to arrange the best possible viewing spot while following local safety and traffic rules. We appreciate your comments and will use them to improve communication, music control and guest comfort. We’re sorry this experience was not the right fit for you, and we hope future guests will note that this is a lively dinner cruise rather than a quiet restaurant-style cruise.
