Geniet van Japanse culturele lessen in de 300 jaar oude tempel in Miyajima. We zijn gelegen op slechts ongeveer 5 minuten lopen van de veerhaven, maar toch een beetje verwijderd van de drukke toeristische plek. U kunt genieten van de vredige sfeer van de tempel. We beginnen de lessen met het aankleden met kimono. De theeceremonie wordt uitgevoerd door onze theemeester in een authentieke theesalon. Wij begeleiden u door de ceremonie, zodat u weet wat er aan de hand is. Proef zoete en matcha-thee op de juiste manier. Wanneer de theeceremonie voorbij is, is het nu jouw taak om je eigen thee te zetten. Kalligrafie is tijdens 6C vanuit China naar Japan geïmporteerd. Leer de lijn te trekken met een penseel. Controleer het monster zorgvuldig om het Chinese karakter te kopiëren. Schrijf je letter en naam op het rijstschepje. Rijstschep (shamoji) is een geluksitem in Miyajima. Maak een origineel amulet speciaal voor jou. Kies een amuletdoosje en een touwtje naar keuze. Schrijf of stempel de wens voor een mini rijstschepje. Voeg alles samen om een amulet te maken.

De tempel is ongeveer 300 jaar geleden gesticht. De belangrijkste Boeddha wordt "Kinseki jizo" genoemd en biedt de bescherming voor kinderen en zwangerschap. "Kinseki-jizo" heeft een oud verhaal over de wens van een oud stel voor een baby en gebeden tot Jizo. Ze kregen een gezonde jongen. Ze zijn zo dankbaar dat ze de tempel hebben gebouwd. De tempel behoort tot de Soto-syu-sekte. In Miyajima is de hele tempel een beetje van het Itukushima-heiligdom, dus je kunt enkele dingen zien die bij het Shinto-heiligdom zouden moeten horen.

I recommend this experience with the trio kimono, tea ceremony and calligraphy. A peaceful, serene and so caring place. The hosts were wonderful in their welcome, kindness and knowledge of the discovery of traditions. I was very touched by this place in Japan! Live this unique experience!

This was a lovely experience from beginning to end. The location is exceptionally beautiful, and I learned so much from the calligraphy lesson as well as the tea ceremony. Their hospitality was fantastic.! I would highly recommend this as a place to go while traveling here

A great experience of different Japanese traditions: first we were allowed to wear a kimono (this can go relatively long for women), then we enjoyed a tea ceremony and learned a little calligraphy (not even so easy). Everyone was super friendly and patient, we felt very welcome! There were also many pictures taken of us in the kimono and at the tea ceremony. Overall, the course is not quite cheap, but you get a lot for the money!

I went to Okeiko on a whim for a calligraphy and I really enjoyed my brief time learning the strokes. I got some souvenirs. I would like to thank the teacher for her patience and small talk

Our day at Okeiko was wonderful. The entire experience from beginning to the end was amazing. The team were extremely welcoming and kind and made us feel really comfortable. They guided through every step of each activity and shared their beautiful culture. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Would definitely do it again. Such a beautiful way to discover traditional Japanese culture. Cannot recommend this place enough!

The area was quiet and untouristy, which was a little experience in itself. There was a wide selection of beautiful kimonos. There was plenty of time to take photos together in the garden. The organizers also took lots of photos during the whole event and made them available to us at the end. The tea ceremony and calligraphy were very interesting, there was a lot of information about it, the hosts spoke good English. The amulet and the wish that went with it rounded off the experience nicely. It was also nice that we got souvenirs to take home (our own calligraphy and the amulet). Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to experience Japanese culture!

It was a great experience. They helped me a lot. All three ladies were sweet, friendly, knowledgeable and charismatic. They showed great patience in choosing the kimono. Amulet and calligraphy touched me deeply. It was very instructive. The tea ceremony was amazing and the best matcha I have ever had. I'm glad I learned. Both chocolate and confetti were very nice. It was a great experience! My partner and I really wanted to dress in kimono and do the tea ceremony, but then we saw the expanded pack with calligraphy and making amulets and we thought it was very curious. We were practicing Kanjis and we took a wooden spoon that we decorated. We also made an amulet, which I was very curious about because of all the temples we had visited, what they had inside. The staff was super friendly and they are very respectful of people's needs (whether or not you want photos, the height of the chairs, what you need to practice on paper before starting to write on wood, hehe) The photos were great. I recommend the full experience if you've never done it before and like us, you're curious. We enjoyed it a lot! Personally, I will repeat when the kimono tea ceremony comes back!
