Onze culinaire culturele tour laat u kennismaken met de smaken van de lokale tradities van Saint-Martin. Je wordt door je vriendin Laurina door de straten van Marigot geleid. Ze laat je kennismaken met zorgvuldig geselecteerde plekken, zoals de markt en traditionele restaurants, waar je een verscheidenheid aan heerlijke lokale gerechten kunt proeven. Naast de proeverijen kunt u tijdens onze wandeling uzelf onderdompelen in de geschiedenis en cultuur van Marigot, aan de hand van fascinerende anekdotes over de oorsprong van de gerechten, de culinaire tradities en de invloed van de verschillende culturen in onze lokale keuken. Je krijgt ook de kans om lokale producenten, vissers en restaurateurs te ontmoeten die hun kennis en passie met je zullen delen. We beginnen de tour met een traditioneel St.Martin-ontbijt! Tijdens het proeven vertellen we je alles over het verhaal achter elk cultureel ingrediënt. Waarom eten we Johnny-cakes? Waar komt het vandaan ? Waarom eten we gezouten vis als ontbijt in Saint-Martin? Wat is bushthee? Stap de levendige en zeer bekende Marigot's-markt binnen! Dompel jezelf onder in de kleurrijke bezienswaardigheden, geluiden en smaken van deze bruisende markt, waar duurzaamheid en het ondersteunen van lokale gemeenschappen centraal staan. Ontdek een scala aan verse producten, handgemaakte goederen en culturele schatten, allemaal afkomstig van nabijgelegen ambachtslieden, boeren en vissers. Onze deskundige gidsen leiden je door dit zintuiglijke genot en delen verhalen met de lokale bevolking en inzichten.
Caribisch en vooral Saint-Martin's eten betekent specerijen! Onze lokaal bekende Marianne, ook bekend als "Spice Lady", legt u alle voordelen van elke specerij uit! Dan concentreren we ons op St.Martin-snacks! Carl's & Son is een lokaal bekend merk dat lokale snacks zoals "patés" verkoopt. (dat gaan we natuurlijk proeven!)
Guavabes is DE vrucht waar Saint-Martiners trots op zijn! Een van de beste manieren om er meer over te weten te komen, is rechtstreeks van onze lokale producenten, zoals Guavaberry Colombier Tradition! De vrucht dreigt binnen een paar jaar te verdwijnen en wij vertellen je precies waarom! Kom meer te weten over het verhaal van deze vrucht, het merk en alle lekkernijen die van deze vrucht worden gemaakt, zoals rum, jam en... peper!

This is a great cultural food experience. You eat what the locals eat. It's alot of food, not just snacks like some reviewers said. All the food was great. Lolita was an awesome tour guide.
