Ervaar de wereld van de Cu Chi-vrijheidsstrijders met een bezoek aan hun beroemde tunnelsysteem. Dit netwerk van meer dan 200 km tunnels werd legendarisch tijdens de jaren 1960 toen ze een cruciale rol speelden in de Amerikaanse oorlog, waardoor de Viet Cong een groot landelijk gebied in de buurt van Ho Chi Minh City kon besturen. In hun hoogtijdagen functioneerden de tunnels ondergrondse steden.

In de ochtend vertrekken we van Ho Chi Minh-stad naar Cu Chi-tunnels. Cu Chi wordt nu beschouwd als een heroïsch district vanwege zijn rol in het anti-Amerikaanse oorlogsverzet tijdens de oorlog in Vietnam. Het is legendarisch vanwege het ondergrondse tunnelsysteem van meer dan 220 km en is een populaire toeristenplaats voor zowel Vietnamezen als buitenlanders. Onderweg naar Cu Chi vanuit Ho Chi Minh-stad komen we langs het schilderachtige lokale platteland, waar je misschien zelfs eenden en buffels kunt zien afkoelen in de rivier. Je zult het moeilijk vinden je de vernietiging en schade voor te stellen die ooit het gebied domineerden, veroorzaakt door bombardementen en mijnen toen Cu Chi 'een vrije doelzone' was.
Na de tunnels stoppen we voor een lunch van de lokale Vietnamese keuken voordat we teruggaan naar Ho Chi Minh. Hier bezoeken we het herenigingspaleis, dat tot het einde van de oorlog in april 1975 de voormalige residentie van de president van Zuid-Vietnam was, de kathedraal Notre Dame, het algemene postkantoor en het War Remnant Museum. De tour eindigt om 17:00 uur.

The purpose of any visit is to experience the history of that place. Going to Vietnam without visiting the, US resistance and the valor exhibited by the locals it is not a visit at all Amazing grit and endurance to visit The guide was so impressed with detail and friendly help
Our trip was organised by Vietnam Tours Saigon & was over 1 1/2 days. First half day we covered the landmarks of HCMC (Saigon).2nd day we covered the Cu Chi tunnels & War Remnant Museum. Our guide was Kheng.We have travelled extensively in many Asian countries.We consider him to be the best.He is very knowledgeable, punctual, gave us time to enjoy the tourist places & took beautiful photos on our mobiles. The driver whose name I cannot recall was punctual, polite & drove safely
My wife and I used Vietnam Private Transfers (VPT) for a private guided tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels and for a pick up from HCM City airport to our hotel (Mia Saigon, which is excellent - see my review). Katie, at VPT was extremely helpful and was always willing and able to answer the many questions I had when planning our trip. The Cu Chi Tunnels trip was very enjoyable and our guide (Huynh Dung) was excellent, knowledgeable and paced the tour well). The driver was very careful and made for a relaxing ride. Would definitely use VPT again.

I booked a group tour to visit Cu Chi tunnel and City for our last day in Saigon. Lily approached me promptly and upgraded our tour to private tour with very little surcharge. She arranged an excellent tour guide for us and there was nothing to complaint about the services. The foods in Cu Chi tunnel was amazing and delicious.
We had to make a change of travel plans and ended up booking our trip from our hotel to Cu Chi at the recommendation of our hotel. The driver was friendly and helpful ( i was on crutches and unable to help with my baggage). Overall it was surprisingly pleaant.
The CuChi Tunnels and Reunification tour was both amazing and an eye opener for us. It showed the ingenuity and resiliency of the Vietnamese people against an even superior opponent. If you love David vs Goliath stories, this tour is for you. The tour guid Jun is very knowledgeable and even the kids love the tour. The lunch was also great.
Amazing trip! The food included was so delicious. Lily was very helpful and organized our trip well; our driver was super friendly and waited for us at the pickup location. Would definitely recommend the day tour to every one!
