De Cu Chi-tunnels in Ho Chi Minh-stad Om te worden beschermd tegen de Franse bezetting in de jaren 1940, groeven communistische guerrillatroepen die bekend staan als Viet Cong tientallen kilometers tunnels met hun blote handen en eenvoudige gereedschappen en breiden zich verder uit tijdens de Amerikaanse oorlog in de jaren 1960. De Cu Chi-tunnels liggen 75 kilometer ten noordwesten van de stad Ho Chi Minh en zijn een uitgebreid ondergronds netwerk bestaande uit 250 km tunnels en kamers in de stad Cu Chi. Dit enorme netwerk van ondergrondse tunnels in Vietnam, die bewaard is gebleven door de overheid van Vietnam en een populaire toeristische attractie is geworden.

We received a very in depth tour from Bao, showing us round all the traps and the cu chi tunnels just outside Saigon. The tour was extremely interesting, and would definitely recommend to other travellers

The tour has been very interesting. You can walk through a section inside the tunnel, it is very narrow and you have to go crouched down. The guide Thin is great, always attentive, kind, and explains very well. Everything ok.

Bao was our tour guide, he was extremely knowledgeable, great humour and a nice guy to get along with. Couldn’t recommend him more. We had a great trip :)
