Deze exclusieve activiteit is speciaal ontworpen voor cruisepassagiers die in Ponta Delgada van boord gaan. Uw ervaring begint met een bezoek aan de ananasplantage van Santo António, waar u de kassen kunt verkennen, meer kunt leren over het traditionele teeltproces en verse ananas en lokale ananaslikeur kunt proeven. Vervolgens maken we een uitstapje naar de pittoreske vulkaan Sete Cidades, waar u kunt genieten van een adembenemend uitzicht tot aan het uitkijkpunt Vista do Rei. U zult versteld staan van het dramatische contrast tussen het Blauwe Meer en het Groene Meer, gelegen in een slapende vulkaankrater. Een werkelijk fascinerend gezicht en perfect voor foto's. Vervolgens maken we een stop in het centrum van Sete Cidades, waar we tijd hebben om de neogotische kerk van São Nicolau te bezoeken en de charme van deze historische gemeenschap te ontdekken. Voordat we terugkeren naar Ponta Delgada, is er een stop bij het uitkijkpunt Escalvado, gelegen aan een prachtige lavakust.

Ontdek de unieke ananasplantage in kassen en leer over het groeiproces.
Beschouwd als een van de zeven wonderen van Portugal, is dit een belvedère waar de beroemdste lagunes van de Azoren te zien zijn. De blauwe en groene lagune is ongetwijfeld een unieke en magische plek.
In de vulkaan Sete Cidades kun je de bezienswaardigheden van deze plek verkennen, zoals de uitkijkpunten, het parochiecentrum, een koffiepauze inlassen, de kerk van São Nicolau bezoeken of een wandeling maken langs de rand van de Blue Lagoon.
Uitzichtpunt in hoogte aan de kust vanwaar u de enorme kliffen en zwarte rotsen van de eilandbewoners van de kloosters kunt bewonderen. Dit is het laatste punt voordat we terugkeren naar Ponta Delgada.
De terugreis naar Ponta Delgada duurt ongeveer 30 minuten en reizigers hebben de keuze om in het stadscentrum of bij de cruiseterminal te verblijven.

Was disappointed as we didn’t get to taste the pineapple or the liquor!
The island is beautiful. Your guide was well versed in the happenings on the island and lifestyle. With that being said, he knew the best places to stop for optimal views of this beautiful place. The tour gave us a good overview of the island and ended at the pineapple “plantation”. The only negative is he went on a tangent about how expensive things are and how tough life can be there. That is everywhere right now and not a highlight of the tour.
We were on a cruise and were asked to meet the tour provider at the terminal. Our tickets stated that we should be there for 9am start. There were 8 of us on a small group tour. We waited in the cruise terminal. The last couple turned up just before 9am and the tour provider said she’d have to cut the tour short as we should have been there for 8.30am. We therefore had to miss the pineapple plantation because she said we had to get back 2 hours before the ship departed. We did however get to see the lakes in the sunshine and were blessed with a rainbow which was the icing on the cake. I would recommend this trip but can I suggest you liaise with cruise travellers the night beforehand and change the time accordingly so they receive the 4 full hours they have paid for.
What a great tour of the lakes and volcanoes. Bruno the tour guide and Paula the driver were both quality people that offered a very special tour experience.
