Bij het metrostation San Javier beginnen reizigers hun avontuur naar Comuna 13. Vanaf hier neemt u samen met uw gids de Metrocable en geniet u van een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht over Medellín. We left early for the metro because morning traffic can be heavy. Our group was fun, with people from Aruba, the USA, Belgium, and Puerto Rico. Everyone looked out for each other, and traveling with locals on the Metro was a nice experience. The gondola ride was great, though one station higher would have given an even better view. Our guide Hector was very knowledgeable and incredibly sweet to our 6‑year‑old son — they clicked right away. He speaks good English, though speaking a bit slower would help, especially with the background noise in the stations. Comuna 13 impressed us deeply. It’s amazing how the neighborhood has transformed through entrepreneurship. The atmosphere was friendly, and no one was pushy. Someone even rapped for me, and the dance show was great. We enjoyed delicious empanadas, drinks, and homemade ice cream. Overall, a wonderful experience — even with a 6‑year‑old. Highly recommended.
Hernán was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had. He made a point to learn everyone’s name & country at the beginning which made us more comfortable with each other. He was also extremely knowledgeable, friendly, & professional. I learned so much about the 4 stages of Medellín’s past & path to transformation. Definitely recommend! ♥️

The Comuna 13 tour was an absolute highlight of my trip to Medellín! Our guide Hector was fantastic, knowledgeable, deeply passionate about sharing the neighborhood's powerful history and transformation, and incredibly patient. He never rushed us, giving us plenty of time to take photos, buy souvenirs, and ask questions. The tour itself was packed with incredible moments: from the cable car ride with a great view, to seeing the beautiful, giant statues and admiring the different arts, including vibrant murals and graffiti, artwork illusion and energetic dance performances. The live rap session was a massive standout that I will never forget. We tried the tasty local snacks, had delicious drinks and ice cream, then we ended the day with refreshments and a panoramic view of the city. If you visit Medellín, this tour is a must, and Hector is the perfect guide! I highly recommend
