Ga mee op een heerlijke twee uur durende wandeltocht door de charmante straatjes van Como, een juweeltje genesteld tussen de uitlopers van de Alpen en het glinsterende water van het Comomeer. Deze tour is perfect voor beginnende bezoekers of iedereen die de hoogtepunten van deze historische en pittoreske Italiaanse stad wil ervaren. We beginnen onze reis bij het iconische Piazza Cavour, het bruisende hart van de stad dat uitkomt op het meer, met een prachtig uitzicht op de omliggende heuvels en de promenade aan het water. Van daaruit wandelen we door het elegante historische centrum van Como, waar geplaveide straatjes ons langs middeleeuwse torens, paleizen uit de Renaissance en levendige pleinen leiden. Terwijl u wandelt, zal uw Expert lokale Gids verhalen delen over het rijke verleden van Como en u wijzen op verborgen juweeltjes en merkwaardige details die u anders misschien zou missen.

In de negentiende eeuw bestond het plein gewijd aan Camillo Benso graaf van Cavour niet, in plaats daarvan was er nu een haven begraven. Aanvankelijk werd het plein gekenmerkt door boetieks en arcades, de gebouwen die we vandaag kunnen zien, werden in de loop der jaren gebouwd. Piazza Cavour werd in zeer korte tijd een echte "stadslounge". Eind 1800 werd in het midden van het plein een fontein gebouwd en later werd deze geïnstalleerd in het Bronx Park in New York. Aan het begin van de 20e eeuw werden drie (nog steeds aanwezige) bloemperken aan de zijkanten van het plein geplaatst. Tramsporen werden aangelegd en later vervangen door een weg. Rond de jaren 1950 werd het gebruikt als een parkeerplaats. Aan het einde van de jaren negentig vormden tien waterstralen in het noordelijke bloembed de laatste architectonische bijdrage aan de plaats. Het plein kan overstromen vanwege de aanleg ervan op het meer.
Teatro Sociale, theater in Como, ontworpen door architect Giuseppe Cusi, werd gebouwd in 1811 met behulp van de bestaande structuur van een oud kasteel (we kunnen de originele muren zelfs vandaag zien). De eerste show vond plaats in 1813 en tegenwoordig kunt u genieten van theatervoorstellingen, maar het is ook een goede plek om ceremonies, bruiloften, zakelijke evenementen te organiseren.
De kathedraal, gelegen in de buurt van Lago di Como, is een van de belangrijkste gebouwen in de regio. Het is gebouwd tijdens verschillende historische periodes en dus kunnen we gotische, renaissance- en barokstijl vinden. In de kathedraal vinden we de sarcofaag van bisschoppen Avvocati en Bonifacio da Modena.
De basiliek van San Fedele in Como ligt in het centrum van de stad en is gewijd aan de martelaar van Saint Fidelis. Het is afgeleid van een eerdere christelijke kerk, daterend uit de zevende eeuw, opgedragen aan Euphemia.
Porta Torre (ook bekend als Torre di Porta Vittoria is een van de belangrijkste versterkte toren in de stad Como, in Lombardije (Noord-Italië), is 40 meter hoog en werd in 1192 gebouwd om de hoofdingang van de stad te verdedigen.

Disgusting the tour guide operator didn’t turn up! Ruined our whole Como experience! Still waiting for a company representative to contact me! The number they provide is not in service!!!!!!
We are sorry that you were disappointed with your experience. However, we must clarify that our guide was at the meeting point at the scheduled time. We personally attempted to contact you several times using the phone number provided in the booking, and our guide did the same. Unfortunately, none of the calls were answered, and we never received a callback. We can provide screenshots of the outgoing calls as evidence. We always do our best to reach guests who are not present at the meeting point, and in this case multiple attempts were made to contact you without success. For this reason, we respectfully disagree with the statement that nobody showed up or tried to contact you.
This was a fun walking tour! Our guide knew so much about Como - there is so much more history here than we originally thought! Definitely worth the time and money for the tour, we learned so much and our guide had great recommendations for restaurants as well.
