Gangaramaya is een van de belangrijkste boeddhistische tempels van Colombo en is niet alleen een plaats van aanbidding, maar ook een cultureel centrum. Het toont een unieke mix van Sri Lankaanse, Thaise, Indiase en Chinese architectuur. Dit is de oudste en een van de meest levendige hindoeïstische tempels in Colombo, gewijd aan Heer Shiva en Heer Ganesha. Het ingewikkelde houtsnijwerk, de kleurrijke torens en devotionele rituelen maken het een spiritueel verrijkende stop en een droom van een fotograaf.
Ooit een kaneelplantage, vandaag de dag is het een van de meest prestigieuze wijken van Colombo. We had a fantastic tour with Sterlin today. He was very knowledgeable, and we learned so much about Colombo and Sri Lankan history and culture. Our favourite part of the tour was being able to visit restaurants we wouldn’t have found on our own, and everything we ate was delicious. We happily let Sterlin recommend and select dishes for us to try and we’re not disappointed. The chilli jackfruit recommendation was a welcome surprise!

I twas a late afternoon tour and unfurtunately there was heavy raining which affected the tour. Despite this, the guide made all possible to accomodate to the conditions and provide a good experience. Heas helpful and gave useful information.

As a solo traveller I felt completely at ease thanks to my friendly and knowledgeable guide.
