The amount of birdlife was impressive, and the scenery along the river was stunning. The tour felt safe, well guided, and thoughtfully planned.
Reaching Collpa Chuncho takes time, but the experience is absolutely worth it. The macaw clay lick is stunning, especially early in the morning. The guide explained the wildlife well, and the lodge was comfortable for such a remote location.
The visit to Collpa Chuncho was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. Seeing so many macaws and parrots flying together at sunrise was incredible. The tour was well organized, informative, and respectful of nature. Truly a unique Amazon experience.
We had a great time at Tambopata in the city of Puerto Maldonado! We did the 3D/2N trip, visiting the amazing Sandoval Lake. Everything was well organized, all meals great, and full activities. We didn't have to worry about anything. Our lodge itself is so beautiful and comfortable. I would have loved to stay there longer! A guide is very kind and patient and amazing at spotting and identifying wildlife! We saw hundreds of big macaws of different species with red and blue heads, a few capybaras, sloth, otters, monkeys, cayman, and all sorts of insects.
