Ontdek de majesteit van Coba, bekend om de hoogste tempel in de archeologische vindplaatsen van de zone. Ga op in de schoonheid van de omgeving, want Coba ligt te midden van vijf lagunes, een veelvoud aan cenotes en wordt omringd door uitbundige vegetatie. Bewonder de kerktempel, de ovale tempel en twee verschillende ballenspellen. Bezoek Cobá, een majestueuze stad omringd door uitbundige vegetatie en erkend vanwege het hoogste gebouw in de archeologische zones ten noorden van het schiereiland Yucatan, Nohoch Mul. Het is een structuur met 7 niveaus van maar liefst 42 meter (138 voet) met 120 treden van beneden naar boven. Deze archeologische vindplaats is gelegen in een prachtig gebied, omringd door 5 lagunes en talrijke cenotes, bekend om het breedste netwerk van wegen genaamd "sacbé", wat "witte weg" betekent in de Maya's. Dit gaf de Maya's destijds grote macht en controle omdat ze de handel faciliteerden. Tijdens je rondleiding verken je ook de kerktempel, de ovale tempel, twee verschillende balspellen. Bekijk de beroemde steengravures, waar de Maya's belangrijke gebeurtenissen hebben geëtst, evenals astronomische bevindingen van dichtbij. Mis dit indrukwekkende culturele erfgoed niet en bezoek deze historische plek.

¡Fantastico! This was a last minute booking for my wife & I and we are soooo glad we didn’t miss it! We were attracted to this Mayan Temple Tour because we wanted to see this place and get some knowledge of the area and culture and we were not disappointed one bit!! Also for the Cenote tour we were all blessed by a shaman before entering the beautiful Cenote. But the real gem of this tour was our guide Ana, she was incredible, full of energy and passion for the place and its history. She made this tour magical. Also a huge shout out to Miguel for getting us to and from our destinations safely. Also also the lunch was amazing and delicious, prepared tirelessly by the crew at the restaurant. Ana and her crew kept us cool and hydrated during a hot and humid day, that’s hard to do here. Thank you, thank you, thank you, this was an awesome way to kick off our visit here in Riviera Maya.

Perfect day experiencing Coba and a beautiful cenote with traditional food, exploring the Mayan culture! Our driver Adrion & guide Mica were exceptional. We were first picked up from our resort at 6:30 am (we were the earliest pick up due to being the furthest resort); we then picked up some other people that were doing slightly different group excursions before making our way to a meet point in playa del Carmen where we transferred vans and were with Mica and Adrion the rest of the day. We went straight to Coba, got a history lesson from Mica (extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide) and after being transported to the big pyramid on tricycles, climbed straight to the top of the pyramid. We then walked our way back through the grounds to the front, learning more about the other structures on the way. After finishing the Coba tour, we tasted local tequilas and honeys at a shop just outside the entrance to the site. Adrion had cold chilled towels waiting for us to hep us cool off and a cooler of water, beer, soda and snacks. We then made our way to the cenote where our group was the only one there a majority of the time. We asked for permission to enter the cenote during a traditional Mayan ceremony with a shaman, and had 30 minutes to swim. Once we were done, we had a traditional lunch and could browse Mayan made goods. Then transported back to our hotels! Definitely wear sunscreen, appropriate shoes for walking/climbing. A hat and sunglasses are a must. Small group of 9 was perfect for us. Also don’t forget a swimsuit, a towel, and a fresh change of clothes for after swimming! Highly recommend this trip, amazing experience for what you pay for!

We really enjoyed our trip to Coba and preferred it to Chichen Itza as it was much quieter. Was longer than we expected as it said 3hrs online but it was actually all day. We were picked up at 8:15 and arrived back at our hotel 16:15. Our guide Ana and driver Luis were great, really friendly and very knowledgeable and it was great that there were only 10 people on our tour.
