We beginnen onze weg op Shermans mars door Atlanta op een belangrijke slagveldsite. Kennesaw Mountain.

Bezoek de site van de laatste, grote strijd in de burgeroorlog en de belangrijkste strijd in de geschiedenis van onze naties.
Bezoek dit prachtige park dat iconische verbonden leiders in de burgeroorlog herdenkt (rijden met de luchtlift is extra)
We eindigen onze dag in het geschiedeniscentrum van Atlanta en bezoeken (indien beschikbaar) de iconische en controversiële cyclorama!

Dit is een privé-autotourervaring. Als je een gratis ophaalservice nodig hebt, laat het ons dan 2 uur voor aanvang van de tour weten (het verkeer in Atlanta kan onvoorspelbaar zijn). We halen ook op bij privéwoningen en AirBnB's. (houd er rekening mee dat we een kleine vergoeding vragen voor ophalen buiten de ophaalzone)

Very informative and friendly tour guide and some cool history to see. Stone Mountain and the cyclorama were awesome and Henry was fun
Our tour guide (Henry) was very informed. We spent from 9am to 4pm with Henry. We started the tour at Kennesaw Battle Field. Very sobering. Disappointing that some museums were closed to us because of the government shut down. Definitely the Cyclorama at the Atlanta History Center was worth seeing. This tour was everything we expected.
This was an awesome tour. Our guide Henry was so knowledgeable and told us things about the civil war that we did our know. I would give this tour a 10 out of 5 and Henry a rating of 20 out of 5. We saw so many highlights in the time that we had. My only regret was that I didn’t call and line up a 2 day private tour to be able to spend more time at each place.

We were disappointed in this tour largely because the tour name is misleading. We expected a detailed batlefield tour with an indepth explanation of the Battle of Atlanta. Our tour guide, Henry, was very affable and well-meaning, but not very informative regarding the Civil War battles around Atlanta. The only part of the tour referrable to the Civil War was the Kennesaw Mountain Museum where we saw the excellent Ken Burns movie- but that took 38 min and we had no time to explore the museum at all. We saw one Civil War era house but were not interested in seeing the 2 others. A trip to the cemetery was short, but worth seeing. The stop at the Cyclorama was worthless- the movie was all about the history of the painting and not about the Battle of Atlanta- very uninteresting. We did enjoy seeing the neighborhoods which were originally the outskirts of Atlanta where the battle was fought. We opted to forgo the long ride to Stone Mountain which is a park and unrelated to the Civil War. A better Tour Title would be Atlanta Then and Now.
Sorry to hear that the tour experience didn't live up to your personal expectations But, unfortunately life has evolved and the neighborhood you visited was a battleground for the final battle in the American Civil war, "The battle of Atlanta"! Everything on the tour presented was directly related to the civil war. Your guide gave instructions for you to tour the museum and you opted to watch the film instead. Loved hearing the Civil War and Atlanta history. Henry was the best host. Very friendly and informative. We truly enjoyed our entire day. It was well worth not having to maneuver to all these sites by ourselves.
