Glorianna was a great guide, really informative and lovely to speak to. The tour was really interesting and we learned a lot. Definitely recommend!
This was our favorite activity that we did in puerto viejo. They were very communicative during the planning process. I have really horrible memory and cannot remember the guides name, I’m so sorry! He was the best guide and definitely 5 stars. He had so much knowledge and we learned a lot about the medicinal plants and the chocolate process from him. He was also very funny. Our favorite part was folding the plants into the plate that we ate from and the FOOD!! The lunch was so good, I still think about it. The timing of each activity was perfect bc after we left each location, the tour buses would come in after. The waterfalls were really easy to get to and refreshing. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking to be immersed in culture!
Gloriana was awesome guide. We loved learning to make and drink chocolate. Even the teenage boys. Had so much fun decided to do their snorkeling tour tomorrow.
The whole family really enjoyed this tour. We learned a lot about plants, the way Bribri tribe live (and lived in the past), and we processed the coco beans to make our own hot chocolate. Gloriana and Chris were a real wikipedia, with so much knowhow and interesting anecdotes. The waterfall part was nice but nothing special if you've already seen several Costa Rica waterfalls. We did enjoy the coconut drink at the waterfall stand very much, so if the stand is open do try it.
Today we were on this tour with our guide Gloria. It was just incredible and so exciting to get into this interesting indigenous culture. We‘ve seen lots of different healthy plants, spices and tropical fruits, which were explained to us in a really special, funny and impressive way. In the end we had the chance to do our own chocolate out of fresh fermented cocoa beans. The last stop at the waterfall was so refreshing and a nice spot to be. Our guide made it to such a nice experience due to her extraordinary identification of her job - just showing others their beautiful coutry and culture. I really recommend to book this tour! Pura Vida!
Wonderful tour--Gloriana was terrific and has the experience to add the color and substance to this tour; The BriBri tribe portion was the best tour of its type that I have been on and the waterfalls were gorgeous afterwards, Would repeat when I go back--My wife and I had a terrific time! You can participate in the chocolate making process and buy some of this great product afterwards;
Me and my friend had a great time with this tour. You learn a lot about old customs of the BriBri people and at the same time you make chocolate yourself and get a delicious traditional lunch. Gloriana was the best guide, very informed, helpful and knowledgeable. Catato, who explained the old customs to us, gave us a great, informative but also light-hearted tour. I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about BriBri culture.
This day trip was an amazing and fascinating experience with the tour guide Gloriana and the local indigenous people being very friendly and informative of the history of the area and their use of wildlife for a range of purposes. The cacao process was also a hands-on experience that I would recommend to anyone!
I emailed the company informing them that I wanted to do the Indigenous Reserve Chocolate and Waterfalls tour, but that I was traveling solo. They informed me they could accommodate me as long as I drove. That was not a problem because I had rented a car for the week. The tour was amazing. I learned a lot about chocolate and the Bribri community. Glory, the tour guide, was incredible! She was knowledgeable and very enjoyable to be around. It was well worth it if you enjoy learning about other cultures and traditions. Pura Vida!
Katako taught us many interesting things about the life of a Bribri, we used all our senses in this Tour. Superb chocolate and excellent guides! Thanks Gloria and Chiqui, we had a great day!
