We beginnen onze foodtour bij de wereldberoemde Lekkere Dumpling, waar je hun gebakken varkensvlees- en bieslookknoedels proeft. Terwijl je eet, leert je gids je een paar kneepjes van het vak over hoe ze hun kenmerkende dumplings zo heerlijk laten smaken.
Op weg naar de volgende eetstop bezoeken we Mosco Street. Deze straat is misschien klein, maar herbergt een aantal unieke Chinese straatkunst en biedt ook een van de beste uitkijkpunten om het One World Trade Center te fotograferen.
Onze foodtour zou niet compleet zijn zonder een bezoek aan Mei Lai Wah. Dit bijna 60 jaar oude restaurant staat bekend om het verkopen van de beste Char Siu-varkensbroodjes in de stad. Een absolute publiekstrekker, ze maken zoet, pittig en sappig varkensvlees voordat ze het in een gestoomd Chinees Bao-broodje stoppen. Deze plek is een van die 'als je het weet, weet je het'-plekken, en je zult gegarandeerd watertanden.
Onze volgende stop is bij Doyer Street, oftewel Murder Alley. Deze straat, gelegen in het hart van Chinatown, heeft een donkere geschiedenis en was in de 19e eeuw de locatie waar rivaliserende Chinese bendes hun meningsverschillen zouden beslechten (maak je echter geen zorgen, de straat is nu erg veilig!)
Vervolgens gaan we naar Spongies Cafe om een sponscake in Hong Kong-stijl te proberen, gecombineerd met een proefje van hun zelfgemaakte zoete Thaise thee. De lichte, luchtige cake en de verfrissende thee zorgen voor de perfecte combinatie – een unieke en heerlijke traktatie die je niet wilt missen!
Als we Chinatown verlaten en Little Italy oversteken, krijgen we de gelegenheid om te stoppen bij het bord 'Welcome to Little Italy'. Deze iconische plek biedt de perfecte locatie om snel een foto te maken in het hart van Little Italy met het Empire State Building op de achtergrond.
We stoppen bij Piemonte Ravioli, een pastamakerij die al meer dan 100 jaar in familiebezit is. Terwijl wij er zijn, krijg je de kans om hun handgemaakte aardappelgnocchi te proeven met een zelfgemaakte marinarasaus.
Vervolgens maken we een korte stop buiten Mulberry Street Bar. Deze iconische plek ziet er misschien bekend uit, omdat deze te zien is in populaire maffiafilms en -shows, waaronder The Sopranos, Goodfellas en The Irishmen.
We stoppen bij Mulberry Street om de prachtige muurschildering van Audrey Hepburn te zien, een opvallend stukje street art dat haar tijdloze elegantie in het hart van Little Italy vastlegt.
Onze laatste stop is Nolita Pizza, deze populaire pizzeria die een aantal van de beste pizza's in New York-stijl in de stad aanbiedt. We zullen een aantal van hun heerlijke kaaspizza's proberen met een dunne en knapperige bodem, zelfgemaakte tomatensaus en gesmolten mozzarellakaas.
Onze laatste stop is Eileen’s Special Cheesecake, een geliefde bakkerij in New York die al meer dan 50 jaar zijn iconische desserts serveert. Hier kunt u genieten van een van hun beroemde cheesecakes of een klassieke Italiaanse cannoli, de perfecte zoete afsluiting van de tour.

Excellent and great portions to try. Will have substitute choices if you are vegetarian. Seth was fantastic and took his time in explaining the food, the history, and the area where we toured. We chose the 10:30 tour as our “lunch plans” for the day. Well worth the cost of the tour.

Seth likes to slow down and explain what you're eating and why the block around it looks the way it does, so it's good to hear that came through. we had the pleasure of having alex as our tour guide. she was amazing and it ended up just being our party during the tour which was super nice and we actually got to hear the history and have a more immersed experience. the food was all soooo yummy. had the best time! the cheesecake was by far the winner. definitely worth the money would 100% do it again. it was the perfect amount of time and walking for us and we ended up being in soho for more shopping after

Great tours guide, shexwas very informative and knowledgeable about the area. For me it was way too much walking and I bailed out halfway through to tour. I wish I had known before it was walking a lot of city blocks. The blocks are narrow and really crowded making it difficult to maneuver. Not their fault but mine for not asking before booking.

This has been the highlight of our trip to New York! David is super friendly, funny and knowledgeable. We enjoy learning different interesting facts about the city and the neighborhoods. All the food we had was great! This is a great way to see and taste these iconic places in the city. Highly recommend!

Emily was a fantastic host! She provided history of the areas and was so prepared at every spot. All the food was fantastic and we got to explore Chinatown and Little Italy.
