Met deze mooie combinatie van Archeologie, Natuur en een koloniaal stadje heb je een goed inzicht over Yucatán, tegenwoordig en hoe het eeuwen geleden was. Skip the line toegang voor Chichen Itza.

Onze eerste stop is Chichen Itza. We komen rond de openingstijd aan, dus behalve dat je de archeologische vindplaats voor jezelf hebt, vermijd je ook de hitte. Een meertalige gecertificeerde gids (+- 1 1/2 uur) zal je uitleggen over de Itzáes, de oude inwoners van Chichén Itzá, hun indrukwekkende 30 meter hoge kasteel van Kukulcán (en zijn zonnekalender erin weerspiegeld), het grootste balveld in Meso-Amerika en de tempel van de krijgers. Na het geleid bezoek heb je +- 1 uur vrije tijd.
Na een bezoek aan de archeologische vindplaats, gaan we naar een afgelegen cenote. Een rustige plek om uit te rusten of een verfrissende duik te nemen. Daar zullen we lunchen, gemaakt door de lokale Maya-vrouwengemeenschap.
Deze gele stad met zijn 16e-eeuwse klooster gebouwd op een Maya-piramide en met het op een na grootste atrium ter wereld, is een van de eerste magische steden van Mexico. We zullen je enkele Maya-structuren laten zien die je nog steeds kunt beklimmen. Een daarvan is het op twee na grootste gebouw in Meso-Amerika (qua volume). Voordat we terugkeren naar Valladolid, heb je de gelegenheid om het prachtige werk te bewonderen van een van de zeer getalenteerde lokale ambachtslieden die Izamal aanbiedt: - Cocoyol: sieraden gemaakt van lokale fruitzaden en ruggengraat van henequen. - Miniaturen: kleinschalige kunstwerken. - Papier-maché: prachtig werk met machépapier. - Houtsnijwerk: vrij algemeen kunstwerk in de Mayaregio

We kunnen je ophalen bij alle hotels, B&B's, hostals en Airbnbs in VALLADOLID, Yucatan. Geef het volledige adres op met het kruispunt of geef aan welk hotel dicht bij uw Airbnb ligt. We halen niet op in andere steden zoals Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, ... alleen Valladolid Ophalen is tussen 07:00 - 07:20 uur

An incredible day with Gilberto. An excellent guide who took us on a 10 hour excursion to Chichen Itza, cenote Yokdzonot, and the yellow city of Izamal. We learned so much from Gilberto. I felt the tour was perfectly timed, with great locations and truly memories experiences. Gilberto also takes amazing photos if you're wanting group photos.

Great experience. The tour is well calibrated. The guide (Jose) is very kind, knowledgeable and fun. We learned a lot. 100% would recommend As stated in the description of the tour, the entrance fee to Chichén Itzá is not included, but that was the only mandatory « extra expense »

Jose was an amazing tour guide. He truly cares about his Mayan culture and it showed through his knowledge of the sites that we went to throughout the day. His presence was informational, and never speaking to the history in a way that wasn’t supported by facts. A great combo experience - José was very knowledgeable about the area as a local. Getting to Chichén Itzá before the mobs from Cancun do is definitely a bonus! There is minimal cover there during the lectures at various spots, so be sure to bring sun protection! There may be umbrellas in the transport van. The cenote was beautiful - we were a little sad that bulky life vests were required as that made it difficult to swim around very well. The water was perfect. The food was delicious. Izamal was picturesque, and it was neat to climb a Mayan pyramid. It was typical for a multi-stop tour in that you really want more time at each place to explore, but you're on a timeline. They balance it as best they can.
