It was a very interesting trip, a lot of amazing Mayan ruins and history and amazing swim in a canote. I think the stop in valladolid was a bit unnecessary because it was such a short stop and with the Chichén Itzá as the last stop it just added to the feeling of being overheated. Chichén Itzá wa amazing, and the guide Beto was really good at explaining the history of the place.
Juan and Jesus from amigo tours were fantastic as tour guide. Rather than provide just a simplistic and regurgitated knowledge Juan took an interest in providing a background of Mayan culture, archeology and history. He is clearly both very knowledgeable and passionate. The tour included visit of coba, Valladolid Cenote and Chichén Itzá. Chichén Itzá is breathtaking and no doubt deserves a place as one of the wonders of our world. On practical side do note that this is a full day excursion and for us staying in Playa del Carmen was nearly 16hours - 5am start and 9pm finish (not that we would complain). But often families with very children may want to know this beforehand.
The pickup in the morning was a bit brutal and long, but our guide was fantastic. Wish we had more time at Coba. Loved the cenote and buffet was great. Chichen Itza was amazing. It was a long day, but worth it. We greatly appreciate them dividing us up into 2 groups for drop off so it didn’t take as long. Juan R. was kind and funny and very knowledgeable. One of our kids was sick the whole time and he was very kind and accommodating.
We arrived at Coba nice and early so beat the crowds and the Cenote but by the time we fot ro Chichen Itza it was 1300 so in the full sun which made it difficult to fully appreciate the large site. I would suggest stopping the cenote and chichen itza order but then maybe the cenote would be overcrowded. Its a very long day so by the time get to Valladolid we were tired. So in hind sight we should've done a half day tour and skipped that bit . If you have the stamina its an excellent day. Our tour guide Juam was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The bus was lovely cool and comfy. The sites were stunning and worth the effort
Fantastic guide and driver! Intensive day was visit to various places and lots of explanations
We did the tour among Chichen Itza with Ramiro, a fully dedicated and smart guide. The pick up and departure was also great. A special thanks to Ramiro!
Very good guide - friendly and knowledgeable (Paul). Driver was excellent (can’t remember his name sorry - Rasiel?). Good variety of stops. Beautiful locations. Take sturdy footwear. Cenotes was stunning. Long day though. Could have done with dropping the last stop. Would highly recommend.
Guide tomas and driver racael were great. Tomas explained to us about the mayan culture and what to look out for when we were in the various locations. Early morning start (05:40am) and taken to coba to climb the temple there before all the crowds and sun set in. Quite a steep climb with large steps but the view is worth it at the top. We then made our way to ChiChi Kan cenote which has a waterfall going into it. Small group size about 8 people so we had the place to ourselves. Before that we had a blessing from a mayan sharman before being lead to the gift shop but they aren't pushy to make you buy something. Then there was an optional tequila testing. After the swim was a food buffet with lots of different options, plenty of veggie options and tasted quite nice. Then to chichen itza where tomas told us about renting umbrellas for the sun instead of buying one and showed us to the main attraction, performing the clapping noise and showed us the other buildings nearby explaining the history and significance of the place. There are alot of vendors trying to sell their goods but you can just walk by but if you do want to buy something always haggle or walk away if its still too much, another stall will have the same items. After about 2hours there we went to Valladolid where we only had about 30 mins to explore the church, park square and grab and ice cream. It was then time to depart and got back about 7pm. Quite a long day with plenty to see and do but tomas makes it very Interesting and fun
Great tour guide Manuel from Amigo Tours and the driver Erik was very good too. The tour was well organised and worth while.
Great tour! Guide was wonderful. Our bus broke down mid tour, guide quickly solved the issue and kept things flowing.
