Wandeltocht door Chicago: verleden en heden verbinden
Beschrijving
Dit levendige overzicht van de architectuur van Chicago verkent iconische gebouwen van de jaren 1890 tot nu. We zullen een breed scala aan gebouwen met verschillende bouwstijlen vergelijken en contrasteren en zien hoe oudere gebouwen aansluiten op nieuwe skyline-toevoegingen. Tijdens deze tour maken we zeven stops in het centrum van Chicago, waar we de geschiedenis en stijlen van gebouwen in elkaars zicht kunnen vergelijken. De tour gaat langs 19e-eeuwse commerciële, Beaux-Arts, Mid-Century Modern en Postmoderne gebouwen, evenals de nieuwste architectuur van Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano en Adrian Smith. Bij elke stop kijken we naar de verbanden tussen het verleden en het heden en ontdekken we wat design vandaag inspireert. De tour wordt afgesloten met een bezoek aan Millennium Park, waar kunst en architectuur van wereldklasse samenkomen en een uniek stedelijk weefsel creëren. Highly recommend the Graceland Cemetery Tour. Many prominent Chicago figures are there and the cemetery is also considered an arboretum.
