The temples and giant Buddha were great. The drive to and from was very long. 3.5 hours each way with lots of road construction. The tour details included drive time so this was not a surprise, but most of the time was spent on the road.

A wonderful day trip to Chiang Rai! Our tour guide, Peter, was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the day well organized. This is a must see place if your in chiang Mai. The photo and videos you see online do not match up with the experience of being their. If you get a good dry day just jump in taxi and go, Every one now where it is. Entrance fee 200 baht, or you could wander round the other temple in the area not just white temple, 200 baht is nothing . Try getting their early. 20 minutes from city. If your planning do all the temple in one day as I did, just talk to taxi drive he will be pleased to take you for the day, This way you have not time frame you stay as long as you like. And another great thing about hiring taxi he took us to other temple not mentioned online where the thai go. I will not mention her. Will be writing review soon.
