Deze Food and History Tour houdt je aan het watertanden, let op dat dit monstergroottes zijn om de smaak van het eten te krijgen en niet noodzakelijk een volledige maaltijd is, afhankelijk van je eetlust. Tijdens The Tour leer je allerlei dingen over de geschiedenis van PEI, het eten en de geschiedenis van de verschillende voedingsmiddelen en waarom elk gerecht belangrijk is voor eilandbewoners. U proeft enkele van PEI's bekende gerechten uit enkele van zijn beste restaurants. Aan het einde van de Tour word je "ingestopt" en word je een eredivisionist. Voedselvervangers als gevolg van allergieën etc kunnen beschikbaar zijn, maar verzoeken moeten vooraf worden ingediend. * Houd er ook rekening mee dat de halte Water Prince Corner Shop soms kan worden gedaan als een afhaal-/picknickhalte vanwege de grootte en drukte van het restaurant.”

Beneden bij het Water zullen we het ook hebben over de Algemene Geschiedenis over hoe verschillende culturen verschillende voedingsmiddelen gebruikten.
We brengen dan wat tijd door op Great George om te leren over de vele historische bezienswaardigheden, zoals het Great George Hotel en de St.Dunstan's Basilica
Onze eerste stop is bij Peake's Restaurant & Bar waar we enkele mosselen zullen proeven met saus die witte wijn, room, uien, selderij, kruiden, boter bevat. Bij het eten leer je alles over mosselen.
We zullen het nu hebben over Province House en vooral de Charlottetown Conferentie van 1864 die hier in 1864 werd gehouden om de mogelijkheid van het creëren van een nieuw land te bespreken.
Onze volgende Food stop zal zijn bij wat wordt beschouwd als een van de beste restaurants in Charlottetown en PEI dat is Water Prince Corner Shop. Hier hebben we een steekproefgrootte van een Lobster Roll (half ) , Voeg wat Aardappelsalade toe en proef een paar coquilles. Hier zullen we het hebben over de Aardappel / Landbouwindustrie op PEI , sommige over de Kreeftindustrie op PEI en Sint-Jacobsschelpen . * Houd er rekening mee dat deze stop kan worden gedaan op het moment als Picknick / take out stijl als gevolg van de grootte en de drukte van het restaurant
Onze laatste stop zal zijn bij Lobster on the Wharf die direct aan het Waterfront ligt en vlakbij waar we de Tour begonnen. Eerst bezoeken we het Kreeftshonk om meer te weten te komen over Kreeftshonk (let op: het kan zijn dat het Kreeftshonk niet altijd geopend is, als dit het geval is gaan we direct naar het Restaurant). Zodra we klaar zijn in de Lobster Pound gaan we naar de Restaurant kant waar je meer te weten komt over de Oyster Industry op PEI Dan word je officieel ingestopt door een Oyster (naakt en rauw wat de traditionele manier is op PEI) te smijten en een shotje PEI Moonshine te nemen (water of frisdranken zijn ook verkrijgbaar . We kunnen ook uw foto of video maken van u terwijl u uw Oesters aan het schuiven bent. Hier ontvangt u ook een Anne’s Chocolate of soortgelijke lekkernij.

Our guide was great! Super knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of Charlottetown. Would totally recommend! Food was good too!
We are so glad we took this tour! Charlottetown has so much history behind it and our guide made it especially nice with his personal touches about his experience living on PEI since childhood.
This was a great tour. Ken was a historian and was interesting. His personal stories were informative and provided a good viewpoint on the region's history. However the rain he said was not going to come, CAME!!😊. He's no weatherman. It was a great tour and we enjoyed it. We would recommend Ken to anyone looking for a tour guide.
The tour was amazing. Our guide (Carolyn) gave a lot of details about the rich history of PEI and the origins of Canada’s Confederation, while walking to several points of interest. The food was fantastic. We really enjoyed it. NOTE: it is better to do this on the 1st day you are in Charlottetown, as you will know all the fantastic restaurants to go to!
Awesome tour. Our guide Caroline was a wealth of historical knowledge. It was cool to learn that our country came to be after the provincial delegates drank too much so much so that they came to an agreement. Oh yeah, the food. A great taste of island cuisine. I read someone else’s review commenting that there was not enough food. It’s supposed to be a taste of island cuisine which it is. We ended up going back to one of our stops later in the day to grab dinner. If you are expecting to strap on a feed bag and get stuffed then find a buffet. If you are looking for some culture, history and a taste then you gotta take this tour.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable with the history of Charlottetown as well as the food served to the group of nine. She was very personable. I enjoyed the whole tour.
The Charlottetown Food Walking Tour was an excellent blend of history and food. Our guide, Carolyn is very knowledgeable and she filled us in on the history of PEI, the city of Charlottetown, the Charlottetown conference and PEI's role in the formation of Canada. She presented the information in an interesting way and was able to handle all of our questions. The tour covered about a mile of walking and was interspersed with three food stops, one for mussels, one for a lobster roll, and the final stop for oysters. If you like seafood, this is a tour for you. The food was excellent (I'm not an oyster fan but we got through it OK) but the mussels and lobster roll were really good. My only comment to complete the tour would be to add an ice cream stop at the very end. All in all we really enjoyed our tour and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to sample good seafood and learn a bit about the history of PEI.
My wife and I had the pleasure of being led by Mark today in and around Charlottetown. His knowledge and love of all things re this city; this province was on full display. His detailed talk was punctuated by stops at three quality restaurants. Thanks again Mark from D&K from Markham ON.

Was cancelled very late the evening before. Didn’t see the message until an hour before the activity was to happen the next morning. . Needless to say it didn’t happen and it was our only day in Charlottetown. Very disappointing.
I understand your frustration and I do apologize that it was last minute . But I did send you your refund and some options to reschedule and also some other options for things for you to do instead . Although you did forget to mention why it was cancelled . I had to cancel last minute as the guide doing the tour had to visit someone who was nearing the end of their life and had asked for the guide to visit them in Hospital (and has since passed away) . My other guides were already on tour and one who was off island for a medial appointment. I was also on a tour so unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it work . Like I said I’m sorry that you didn’t get to experience the tour . I hope you enjoyed our beautiful island . Josh
