De Blind Tiger, opgericht in 1893 als reactie op een restrictief apotheeksysteem en vernoemd naar de gouverneur die het oplegde, is nog steeds een gerenommeerd etablissement. Geniet van een drankje terwijl je leert over de aangrijpende ontmoetingen die veel klanten en medewerkers door de jaren heen hebben meegemaakt.
Deze plek, gebouwd tussen 1767 en 1771, fungeerde als militair hoofdkwartier in Charleston, net als waar drie ondertekenaars van de Onafhankelijkheidsverklaring tijdens de Revolutionaire Oorlog gevangen zaten. Een plek waar zoveel lijden heeft plaatsgevonden, zal ongetwijfeld spookachtig zijn, en de Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon is daarop geen uitzondering. Dit gebouw huisvestte bijna 150 jaar lang een bank en is sinds 2013 een bar en restaurant. Hoewel het niet noodzakelijkerwijs spookt, kun je, terwijl je hier van je drankje geniet, meer te weten komen over de legende van de Boo Hag, een groot deel van de Gullah-cultuur van het gebied .
Terwijl u geniet van een lokaal biertje, leert u het verhaal van Berry Hall, nu een studentenhuis, maar ooit een weeshuis. Studenten melden vaak dat ze vandaag de dag nog steeds kinderliedjes en gelach horen.
Deze kerk en begraafplaats, oorspronkelijk gebouwd in 1710 en herbouwd na een brand in 1835, zitten vol geschiedenis. Leer over een ontmoeting die een vrouw had en die volgens haar een onverwachte invloed op haar leven heeft gehad.
Gebouwd in de 18e eeuw en jarenlang fungeerd als arsenaal, zijn mensen hier getuige geweest van allerlei soorten verschijningen.

We did not get to take the tour. 40 minutes before the tour we got notified that it was cancelled. Tour guide had an emergency & they couldn't find another guide to take his place for the 7pm tour.
We had a lot of fun. It was my husband and I. And. then just one other couple and a solo person. So just 5 of us. Nathan was our guide and he did a fantastic job. He was entertaining and knoweldgeable and made the whole experience more fun. The stories he told were great. I'd highly recommend him! And we enjoyed the pub stops: Blind Tiger, La Vaute, Griffon and Tommy Condon's. Really fun!

Tim was a fantastic host! The tour was so informative and fun and we even added a few things to our itinerary because of his recommendations! The tour was an easy walk through downtown Charleston and even my friends who thought they’d be spooked by the ghost stories really enjoyed it. We loved going around the different bars and learning the history and lore in the surrounding areas. Definitely recommend if you want a unique way to enjoy the town.

More of a bar crawl with some Charleston history, than a ghost tour. Not as much ghost lore as we would have liked.
