De Maya-ruïnes van Chacchoben zijn de meest populaire en bezochte attractie om een geweldige dag aan de Costa Maya door te brengen. Het is ongeveer 55 minuten rijden van de haven van Costa Maya. Deze camping ligt een paar kilometer van de stad Chacchoben waar de naam aan is ontleend. De vertaling van het Maya-woord "Chacchoben" verwijst naar "De plaats van rode maïs." De bouwwerken op deze plek worden gekenmerkt door grote tempels en enorme platforms die dateren uit 700 na Christus. C.

Bij aankomst in de haven van Costa Maya, nadat u van boord bent gegaan van uw cruiseschip, gaat u naar de hoofduitgang waar de gele taxi's staan. Daar vindt u vervoer met ons logo en een van onze chauffeurs brengt u rechtstreeks naar ons kantoor, waar we u inchecken. U wacht ongeveer 15 minuten voordat u op excursie gaat en kunt genieten van een gratis drankje. Vervolgens vertrekt u naar uw eerste stop bij de archeologische zone van Chacchoben, die u in ongeveer een uur kunt bereiken.
Maak deel uit van deze geweldige ervaring, geniet en leer iets meer over een van de grootste beschavingen die de mensheid heeft gekend: "De Maya's". Vanaf uw aankomst in de haven van Costa Maya wordt u ondergedompeld in de eeuwenoude jungle die de grote geheimen van deze beschaving bewaart en die u zult kunnen ontdekken. Geniet van deze tour die je meeneemt naar een van de grootste steden in Zuid-Mexico. Wanneer u in de archeologische zone aankomt, laat u dan betoveren door de wonderen van de constructies. Bezoek, ontdek en leer hier meer over en bekijk de huidige bewoners van de Archeologische Zone; slingerapen. Oogverblindend met de prachtige groenblijvende jungle om je heen, een tropisch klimaat en de muggen die nooit ontbreken, en nieuwe bezoekers met aanmoediging verwelkomen.
Aan het einde van uw rondleiding door de prachtige stad Chacchoben. Uw chauffeur brengt u naar de Laguna de Siete Colores (Bacalar), waar u in ongeveer 45 minuten naartoe rijdt. Waar u kunt genieten van een heerlijke lokale maaltijd en twee drankjes (alcoholisch of non-alcoholisch) per persoon inbegrepen; en je kunt er ook zwemmen en genieten van de prachtige kleuren.
Nadat u de archeologische vindplaats heeft bezocht en heeft genoten van onze prachtige lagune met zeven kleuren. Uw chauffeur brengt u terug naar de haven van Costa Maya. De rit ernaartoe duurt ongeveer één tot twee uur.

We had an amazing time. Luis was our personal tour guide. We were able to see the Chaccoben ruins AND the seven color lagoon. Most of the tours were either or, so if you don’t want to spend hours in the sweltering heat just to see the ruins, pick this tour because it was just the right amount of time at both locations. The tacos at the lagoon were amazing. I would come back just to spend a few days at the lagoon. There are lots of hotels and resorts in the area.
Ruins were great! Saw some monkeys as well. Seven color Lagoon Baclar was amazing. Victor our guide brought us right to the perfect spot, lunch was great and the water was amazing
Toucan tours went beyond above and beyond. The lagoons were beautiful and a great break from people. Everything was very well planned. Food and drinks included were outstanding. We were so lucky to have Rual, he was so kind and helpful. Thank you!
We loved it ! Our guide was Huitzi and he was great ! He was really helpful and went out of his way to accomodate us. We loved the temple and the blue lagoon was beautiful. He made sure to bring us back way on time for our ship.

The tour was very efficient providing good directions for meeting spot just outside of cruise port. It’s about an hour plus drive by bus to and from the ruins with about an hour to see the ruins themselves… 3 areas. Best part we saw monkeys in the trees. The bus driver was very nice and brought delicious pineapples during the provided lunch. I have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. Lunch included tacos of choice of meat. I had mine with vegetables instead of the shells. The resort area by the lake is very nice and we got to relax, swim, and enjoy lunch there for about an hour in a half. Then another hour drive back to cruise ship. We had about 30-45 minutes post tour to walk back from bus drop off to cruise ship. We were a bit nervous but made it no problem. All in all a really nice day out if you want to see some ruins, learn about the past, and do not mind lots of driving. :)

Awesome shore excursion. Easy to find right outside the port. Directions were exactly as described. Met by friendly staff and were very welcoming. Driver was great and reliable. Tucán tours has a team of professionals who give envy. Good people, willing us to have a good time. In an 8 seater van, we went to the ruins of Chakkoben and the Laguna Bacalar. Huitzi, our Aztec driver and guide, with his kindness and professionalism led us to the adventure of the Maya and finally to the Laguna Bacalar, precisely in the Hotelito el Paraíso, where a rich Mexican lunch (fajitas) and a very good margarita awaited us. There was nothing Ke Huitzi could improve. He was fantastic. Hopefully they can get to know him and get carried away with him and that travel agency in general.
