Chacchoben en Bacalar combi-excursie Costa Maya
Beschrijving
Bij de Maya-ruïnes van Chacchoben word je geleid door een professionele lokale gids. We zullen door de jungle wandelen om de verschillende structuren van de Maya-site te verkennen en te leren, zoals: Temple 24, Plaza B, Gran Plaza, Gran Basamento, Los Gemelos, Las Vasijas en Templo Uno. Deze excursie biedt ook de mogelijkheid om over lokale planten te leren en enkele soorten lokale fauna te observeren, waaronder vogels en slingerapen. Bij de Bacalar-lagune is de eerste plaats om te bezoeken "Cenote Esmeralda", waar u versteld zult staan van de verschillende tinten blauw en begrijpt waarom de Bacalar-lagune vaak wordt aangeduid als de lagune met 7 kleuren. Het volgende punt om van te genieten is "Black Cenote", een cenote in de open lucht en ook het diepste punt van de lagune. De laatste plek om te verkennen is het Piratenkanaal, zoals u die dag zult worden uitgelegd, kwamen piraten Bacalar binnen door dit kanaal te gebruiken om lokaal kostbaar hout te stelen.

We nemen je mee naar de archeologische vindplaats Chacchoben, waar je een rondleiding van 1,5 uur krijgt met een inheemse gids die de geschiedenis van een Maya-stad onthult die rond 300 AD floreerde.
De eerste glimp die je van deze prachtige lagune zult krijgen, zal zijn als we vanaf een heuvel dicht bij de kust komen. De eerste plaats om te bezoeken in de Bacalar-lagune is "Cenote Esmeralda", waar u versteld zult staan van de verschillende tinten blauw en begrijpt waarom de Bacalar-lagune vaak de lagune met 7 kleuren wordt genoemd. Onze volgende stop is "Cenote Cocalitos", de thuisbasis van stromatolieten, die bekend staan als levende stenen en worden beschouwd als de oudste vorm van leven op aarde. Het derde punt om van te genieten is "Black Cenote", een cenote in de open lucht en ook het diepste punt van de lagune. Het wordt een geweldige ervaring en een dag vol plezier en leren.

Juan Corona and Manuel were amazing tour guides! They truly went above and beyond to make sure our experience was one to remember. They were very diligent with time, and made sure we had plenty of time to return an hour before cruise ship disembarked. This was my favorite tour of our trip. The water was beautiful at the lagoon and the ruins were amazing. Thank you Juan Corona and Manuel for an experience our family will not forget!

We were excited to do this excursion, however, choppy seas and strong winds prevented our ship from docking in Costa Maya. I let Chac Ek (operator) know and within the hour they worked with Viator to get our booking fully refunded. Was grateful to get such great service and an easy resolution. Hopefully we’ll be back sometime soon to do this tour!

Leo and staff at Chac Ek were phenomenal. This activity has been on of the best adventures we’ve taken as a family. It was a perfect balance of gorgeous historical lagoon time, a locally made lunch, followed by an outstanding visit at the Mayan ruins. Absolutely fantastic tour guide.

What an incredible tour!!!! Chicken & Juan Corona were awesome. I appreciate how Juan gave us a lot of history on the ride to the ruins then helped us take pictures and just take it in while we were there. A lot of times I don’t like tours because when you’re at the location, they’re giving you all this information and sometimes you just want to take a moment to embrace the space you’re in so this is exactly the type of tour I love. They were also funny and fun. The place we had lunch was incredible. The lagoon. No words. AMAZING. Book this. We were on a cruise and we made great timing so book this instead of the Cruise one.

This was the best excursion we did on our trip. We had a group of 13 people ranging from 6 to 74 years old and everyone enjoyed it. The company was great with communication through What's App, responding quickly to all my questions. Finding our tour guide outside the port was easy and everything was a smooth process. The first thing our guide did was confirm the time we had to be back to our ship and went over the entire schedule for the day to make sure we were comfortable with the timeline and they had us back in more than enough time to wander shops in the port before we had to be back on the ship. Juan Corona was an awesome guide and Miguel was our driver. Juan Corona was so informative about the ruins and they got us there before the buses full of people arrived so we basically had the place to ourselves. We stopped at a local restaurant for lunch and the food was delicious (included in the tour price). We stopped and got fresh pineapple and mango that Juan gave us as a snack at the lagoon. The lagoon was everyone's favorite part. It was beautiful and so refreshing just relaxing in the water. Highly recommend this tour!

First of all, there are no boat tours on Wednesdays due to a local regulation that forbids navigation anywhere in the lagoon so beware of that. They won't tell you that until after you book the tour. They take you by car to only one spot on the lagoon where you spend a couple of hours before heading back to Costa Maya. Chacchoben was pretty interesting and Francisco, the tour guide, was pretty knowledgeable and personable. He made everyone feel at ease right away. The food is just ok. The van is pretty spacious and comfortable. Pretty easy to find them and pretty easy to get back to the port afterwards.

Outstanding experience. Clear communication from the very beginning regarding where to find the guide after leaving the cruise ship including text and video instructions. Juan was a fantastic guide. Professional, funny, sincere, always ready to help with pictures and providing interesting information regarding what we were seeing every step of the way. I cannot give a higher recommendation! Visiting the ruins was a wonderful experience and we saw several monkeys that stopped by for some close up pictures. The lagoon was gorgeous and the experience was enhanced with fresh pineapple and mangos served to us by Juan while enjoying the water. Lunch was delicious and provided plenty of tasty food. Drinks and snacks were appreciated as well1 Amazing tour!!!

Easy to book, easy to find, easy to communicate via WhatsApp, safe for female travelers! Tour guide - Juan, Driver- Andres /Perro, and Boat Captain Armando Excelente! Chacchoben and Bacalar Combo tour. Ruins great experience learned a lot, good stop for food very tasty garlic fish tacos, guacamole and Jamaica. My Seester had the cochinita Pipil and Tamarindo. Once full we went off to Bacalar Laguna and the beauty of the water was just awe! Such a great experience w my sister and tour guide. Gracie Andes por las Galletas Acoiris! IYKYK!
