Terugreis : Wij zullen u terug naar uw schip ongeveer 1 uur voor de vertrektijd. We komen bijna altijd terug VOOR de eigen bussen van het schip. We zijn zeer efficiënt en doen dit al 7 jaar en bedienen elk zomerseizoen duizenden cruisepassagiers. Onze gidsen zijn altijd uitstekend. Controleer de tourtijden op onze website, aangezien de hier vermelde tijden bij benadering zijn. Gelieve 15 minuten voor aanvang aanwezig te zijn. Deze tour is meestal in een grote bus, tenzij het een klein schip is dan kan het in een 8 zits minivan.

We zullen naar het slagveld van Culloden reizen, waar de Jacobieten in de opstand van 1946 menig ziel verloren. Dit was de laatste strijd die op Britse bodem werd uitgevochten. Als de tijd het toelaat, geven we gasten de kans om op het slagveld te lopen. Afhankelijk van de tour stoppen we misschien niet maar rijden we gewoon door.
Na een half uur bezoek aan Clava Cairns, zullen we de hoek om komen om het beroemde Culloden of Nairn viaduct te zien, ontworpen door Murdoch Paterson en geopend als een spoorwegovergang in 1898. Het is een spektakel om te aanschouwen - er zullen fotomomenten zijn.
Cawdor Castle is een bewoond kasteel dat is beschreven in MacBeth van Shakespear, wanneer hij verwijst naar de Thane of Cawdor en de voorspelling. Het heeft spectaculaire tuinen en begeleide audiotours in uw eigen taal.
Ga naar de stad om te winkelen of de historische kerken en straten te bekijken. Het kan variëren tussen 30-90 minuten voor deze stop.
We verlaten het kasteel van Urquhart rond 14.00-14.30 uur en reizen via een schilderachtige route naar Beauly om langs de historische priorij te rijden, nu een ruïne, gebouwd in 1230 door een weinig bekende Franse monnikenorde. Het is ook de locatie waar Claire, bekend van Outlander, Mairi zou hebben ontmoet. Het is de echte begraafplaats van de leiders van Clan Fraser, waarvan het fictieve personage uit Outlander, Jamie Fraser, verwant is. Als de tijd het toelaat zullen we stoppen.
Als we verder reizen door de stad Inverness, passeren we het historische stadhuis en het kasteel van Inverness. Er zullen fotomomenten zijn voor het kasteel en de kathedraal van Inverness. U kunt een bezoek brengen aan de kasteelgalerij en de winkels, cafés of historische bars. Foto's alleen tot 2024 als kasteel wordt gerenoveerd.
We gaan over de rivier de Ness naar Loch Ness, waar je klaar moet zijn om onze legende, Nessie, het monster van Loch Ness, te spotten. Geniet van de comfortabele rit langs Loch Ness, die slechts ongeveer 30 minuten duurt, op zoek naar Nessie zelf. De laatste beroemde geregistreerde waarneming van haar was een paar decennia geleden, maar we leven in de hoop dat ze binnenkort weer gefotografeerd zal worden. Het landschap is ongeëvenaard, dus houd uw camera gereed. De afgelopen maanden circuleerden er online beelden van video-opnamen van een dier vergelijkbaar met Nessie dat speelde in Loch Ness. We stoppen bij de parkeerplaats van Loch Ness voor foto's, maar het is niet mogelijk om in Loch Ness te peddelen vanwege de steile ligging op een heuvel. Je reist 30 minuten langs Loch Ness en geniet ervan en wacht op een glimp van Nessie. Rijd 30 minuten langs. We zullen proberen te stoppen voor foto's
Ga naar een plaatselijke boerderijwinkel, maar bekijk vooral de twee Hooglandkoeien Jamie en Katie-Morag

Despite the fact that the boat was delayed, and we had to cut some destinations, which we can understand, it did not seem acceptable to us that we missed seeing Urquhart Castle, when, however, we did stop at a store to buy souvenirs because there was a hairy cow. Honestly, we found the cow thing to be a joke, and with absolutely no interest, always in comparison to the visit to the castle (which would have taken the same amount of time). On the other hand, we want to emphasize that the guide of the excursion was perfect, he attended to us magnificently well and is a very valuable person in terms of knowledge and very kind treatment! The landscapes and Cawdor Castle were fantastic, understanding that we could not stop at Culloden Battlefield, but, as we say, the part of Loch Ness was very poorly managed, because we did not even go to see the statue of Nessie (which we can understand, due to the limited time), but, absolutely, and we repeat, not stopping for 15 or 20 minutes at Urquhart seems unacceptable to us, and we demand the corresponding economic compensation for this NO VISIT, which was among the essentials of your excursion, when there was time to see and visit it, even if it had been the almost 25 minutes that we did have for the store! The excursion to Cawdor, with Culloden and Inverness, or the one to Urquhart, Loch Ness, Nessie statue, and Inverness, would have cost us, through the cruise, less than 250 euros. If we chose this one from you, it was because, in a single excursion, we visited both places, and for 327 euros (and according to what was offered, it seemed fantastic), but the truth is that one of them (the one to Urquhart and Loch Ness) was very, very, very scarce, and the reason for our complaint!, which we hope will be refunded to us, in the amount you consider or evaluate, for the part not visited! Estimados señores, En primer lugar, ustedes no pagaron esa cantidad por la excursión. El precio abonado fue de £129 por persona. La excursión que reservaron fue nuestro tour de Castillo de Cawdor, Lago Ness y vacas de las Highlands, y ese es exactamente el tour que recibieron. En ningún momento estaba incluida una visita al Castillo de Urquhart. Nosotros nunca ofrecemos excursiones que incluyan ambos castillos, ya que simplemente no hay tiempo suficiente para hacerlo. This trip was fabulous. Our tour guide, Seòras (sp? -George) McGillivry, was spectacular. At Culloden, he shared that he is a 7th generation descendant of a clansman that perished during the battle. Very informative gentleman. Great overall trip. Love those Hairy Coos!!

We had a wonderful experience in Scotland. Where do I start? Booking through Viator and Tripadvisor was seamless thanks to the friendly staff on the phone. Upon our arrival on May 27, 2026, at the port of Invergordon, we were warmly welcomed by Danny and Maxine from Thistle Excursions. Fortunately, we were a small group with only 5 participants in total. The chemistry among us clicked immediately, so afterwards we arranged to meet daily on the AidaSol, exchanged phone numbers, and became friends :-). Danny fulfilled every wish we had during the excursion. He is very funny, and his English is very easy to understand. We laughed a lot together, so we had a wonderful 8 hours filled with a lot of input in bright sunshine. The report would become too long if I wrote about all the great details of this little adventure trip. The locations of the Outlander filming sites were magical and very emotional for Dani (the second female participant and a huge Outlander fan) and me. There was enough time to take plenty of pictures and shoot videos. We all quickly noticed that our guide Danny loves Scotland and is very proud of his country. Even during this tour, he infected us with his love for Scotland. Since then, I have been a very big fan of Scotland. The loving and friendly people and the great landscape impressed me/us very much. Danny is the best guide ever, ever, and ever!!! :-) THANK YOU for that. Scotland will definitely see us again.
