De ideale manier om Cascais en Estoril te bezoeken: een dagtocht! Cascais was van oudsher een populaire badplaats voor de Portugese elite, ontstaan uit een vissersdorp, en dat bleef zo tot het einde van de 19e eeuw. Vanaf de jaren 30 van de 20e eeuw veranderde Cascais echter ingrijpend door de komst van internationale vorsten en ballingen, waardoor het uitgroeide tot de Portugese Rivièra. Het is de tijd en plaats waar mensen die aan vervolging ontkomen een veilige haven vinden, en dit neutrale gebied is het toneel voor de grootste spionagespellen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog. De donkere jaren en de verwoeste steden in Europa voelden hier totaal anders aan, omdat het grootste deel van het continent geen enkele vorm van veiligheid of gastvrijheid kende. Tegenwoordig is het een prachtig, 30 kilometer lang internationaal kustgebied aan de Atlantische Oceaan dat reizigers en investeerders van over de hele wereld aantrekt, voor zowel vakantie als zakelijke kennismakingen met heel Portugal! Volg tijdens deze reis de aanwijzingen uit de film "007 On Her Majesty's Secret Service" uit 1969, want je bezoekt tegelijkertijd de geboorteplaats van James Bond, de plek die Ian Fleming inspireerde.

Wonderful Lisbon a pleasure to spend time seeing the sights and of course sampling the famous Portuguese Custard Tarts over coffee. Then on to Estoril the casino and hotel where Ian Flemings James Bond was invented. Finally to Cascais with its lovely beaches marina quaint Old Town with good selection of restaurants. It’s so important to have a good driver and guide like Nuno of Sophia Tours who takes time to explain the history and culture of these lovely places. I have no hesitation in recommending Sophia Tours for quality care and dedication to the travellers needs. Competitive prices assured for all their private and customised tours

The history architecture and beauty of Lisbon just took my breath away and it’s so essential to have a good guide with you which I did adding even further interest and knowledge of this great City. So enjoyed our stop at the Portuguese Custard Tart shop in Lisbon to sample these sweet delights with coffee. Next stop The Casino and Spies Hotel in Estoril not to be missed and the story attached to these landmarks of how James Bond was invented well narrated by the guide. Cascais our last stop is full of character breathtaking views.The journey along the coastline was a pleasure with Nuno my driver and guide a very sociable person extremely knowledgeable who is a careful driver in a modern vehicle.
