Dit is de oudst bekende stad in Amerika, ongeveer 5000 jaar geleden gelijktijdig ontwikkeld met de oude culturen van Mesopotamië en Egypte! Ga terug in de tijd in een duizendjarige reis en laat je onderdompelen in deze uitstekende pre-Spaanse citadel: tempels, piramides, amfitheater en de belangrijkste pleinen. Vanaf de top kon je alle majesteit van de Vallei van Supe waarderen. Caral wordt geprezen om zijn prachtig bewaard gebleven ruïnes en intrigerende verzameling artefacten, waaronder een quipu (een uniek knoopsysteem dat werd gebruikt door oude Andes-beschavingen) en een aantal muziekinstrumenten gemaakt van dierenbotten, maar zeker geen spoor van oorlog of wapens!

Onze Gids en chauffeur halen u op om u naar Caral te brengen. De rit naar Caral per busje duurt ongeveer 4 uur. We maken een korte stop om ontbijt, snacks te kopen, naar de badkamer te gaan of gewoon een beetje te stretchen. Om 10.30 uur komen we aan bij de archeologische vindplaats Caral, een van de meest indrukwekkende van Peru! Je ontdekt de mysteries die deze oude stad omringen en dompelt je onder in de geschiedenis en cultuur van een van de belangrijkste beschavingen in de precolumbiaanse geschiedenis. Een tour naar Caral is een onvergetelijke ervaring voor liefhebbers van archeologie en degenen die verbinding willen maken met de voorouderlijke erfenis van de mensheid. Om 13:00 uur ongeveer : We eindigen de tour in Caral en keren terug naar Lima. Op de terugweg stoppen we voor de lunch in een lokaal restaurant. Lunch is niet inbegrepen, maar we zullen u helpen bij het samenstellen van een maaltijd in een van de lokale restaurants.

Great experience visiting the archeological site of Caral with Cesar and Cirilo. Cesar has a wealth of knowledge, not only about Caral, but all aspects of Lima and Peru. We learned so much on our drive and the site was fantastic. Both Cirilo and Cesar were very friendly and respectful. I highly recommend this trip.
If you like visiting archaeological sites, this is for you. It did make for a very long day. We were gone for more than 12 hours, but part of that was due to the traffic coming back into Lima. Caral is an interesting site. Our guide spoke very good English.

Caral is a fascinating place and completely changes the way we understand the history of ancient civilizations in the Americas. Highly recommended for anyone who loves history and archaeology.
Amazing the first civilization of America, not all of Peru is Machu Picchu, the country has much to offer as this gem of which few speak, there are few tourists but it is full of culture and history, definitely worth it even though the price is a little high.

Detailed walkthrough of the archeological site Well worth the long commute Suitable for late departure (after 8pm)
Caral, the oldest known civilisation in the Americas is a recommended visit especially for history buffs. While it is a long drive to Caral from Lima, our journey was made enjoyable by Leonardo, our guide and comfortable by Percy who drove us there and back. Leonardo is knowledgeable and passionate about the subject and kept us engaged throughout with information both about Caral and the other ancient settlements in the neighbouring areas. His general knowledge about the Peruvian history and economy also made for interesting conversation on the drive. I believe Caral makes for an interesting rounding-off of the knowledge of ancient South American societies.
Caral was worth it despite its remote location. During the journey, César was so kind and shared a lot of his knowledge about Caral as well as the different areas we passed by on route. The guide in Caral was also very informative. I highly recommend the tour and César as a tour guide for his friendliness, attentiveness and all the fun we had throughout the day. Luis was also a wonderful driver. Very friendly and he drove safely.
