Je Gids haalt je op bij je Cairns-accommodatie en deelt inzichten over het erfgoed van Djabugay Aboriginal en de Wet Tropics van het Werelderfgoed tijdens de schilderachtige rit naar Skyrail Smithfield Terminal of Freshwater Station, afhankelijk van de optimale dagelijkse route om drukte te vermijden.
Glij 7,5 kilometer boven het ongerepte regenwoud met uitzicht op de Koraalzee. Stop bij Red Peak Station om verhoogde promenades door het oude bos te lopen en bezoek vervolgens Barron Falls Station om spectaculaire watervallen te bekijken die vanaf meerdere uitkijkplatforms het Barron Gorge National Park binnenstromen.
Verken Kuranda's beroemde Heritage Markets (opgericht 1915) met inheemse kunst, lokale ambachten en Australische souvenirs. Optionele bezoeken aan Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Birdworld Kuranda of Koala Gardens (toegangskosten apart). Geniet van een lunch in lokale cafés of restaurants en ontdek dorpsgalerijen en regenwoudwandelingen.
Bekijk Barron Falls vanaf zowel de uitkijkpost van Skyrail als tijdens de Kuranda Scenic Railway reis. Het meest spectaculair tijdens het natte seizoen (december-april) wanneer tropische regenval het watervolume dramatisch verhoogt.
Stap aan boord van de historische 1891 spoorweg bij Kuranda Station voor de spectaculaire afdaling door Barron Gorge National Park. Reis door 15 met de hand uitgehouwen tunnels en over 37 erfgoedbruggen, langs Stoney Creek Falls en regenwoudkloven terwijl commentaar de bouwgeschiedenis van de Queensland-spoorweg vertelt.
Uw Gids ontmoet u op Cairns Station (of Skyrail Smithfield Terminal als de route is omgedraaid) voor terugkeer naar uw Cairns accommodatie (of Cruise Liner Port), en deelt aanbevelingen voor andere Tropical North Queensland attracties. Fantastic experience from start to finish. Both the railway journey and the skyrail cable car were unforgettable but probably the star of the day was our guide - Mann. He was excellent; giving us lots of information and importantly taking us on short walks to explain something of the rain forest. So on this tour you get to see this amazing part of the world from the train, from above and also on the ground. A truly excellent trip, something we will always treasure.

This was a great way to get to and from the skyrail and Railway as well as seeing Kuranda with a guide. Pan was super friendly and knowledgeable. You could do this trip without a guide if you want to deal with getting to and from the stations but it was great to have all the details worked out so we could just show up and have a nice day sightseeing

We only got the train up as the skyrail was under maintenance which was a bit sad. They did orgainize other activities and lunch to make up the costs which was great but didn't have much time to walk around the town, we got time to have a coffee then had to meet travel guides.

Awesome experience! The scenic train took us through some gorgeous parts of the rainforest, including Barron Falls and tunnels. We also got to explore Kuranda village and take the Skyrail back down to Cairns. Our tour guide, Man, was super friendly and knowledgeable and made sure we had a wonderful time. Definitely recommend!

If you don’t want any hassles getting to the train/Skyrail and getting tickets and lining up etc I would recommend this tour. You also have a 2 hour stop at Kuranda to have lunch and look at the sights/markets etc. Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable.

Man was a competent and generally knowledgeable guide. However, it was difficult for us to see how the $300+ we paid for his services after deducting the ticket price translated into tangible value, especially after we participated in other equivalently-priced tours. Although we were the only two guests that day, the trip felt more like a transfer service rather than a bespoke guided tour. The pacing of the tour also felt rushed and Man constantly reminded us that he was waiting for us which felt somewhat passive aggressive to me. I’m aware that this itinerary has many self-guided elements but it would do well for Man to consider how the few touch points he has with guests can be improved to address the issues highlighted above.
