De tour begint in de haven, waar je op een touringcar met airconditioning stapt voor een rit van een uur langs schilderachtige wegen, langs schilderachtige dorpjes op weg naar Cahuita. Dit is een prachtig Nationaal Park dat een geweldig wit zandstrand combineert met uitbundig regenwoud. Tijdens de natuurwandeling wijst onze natuurgids op de verschillende diersoorten die in het park aanwezig zijn, zoals apen, luiaards, leguanen, toekans en andere. Na de natuurwandeling is er een snackstop inbegrepen in Cahuita Town, waar u kunt genieten van een drankje of de lokale Caribische smaken kunt proeven. Terugkerend naar de pier, is een stop bij een bananenplantage inbegrepen om meer te weten te komen over dit belangrijke gewas voor de Costa Ricaanse economie. Naast banaan leer je over chocolade en andere belangrijke producten van deze rijke regio. Een souvenirwinkel is ook inbegrepen als onderdeel van de tour voorafgaand aan de terugkeer naar het schip.

Een prachtig Nationaal Park gelegen op ongeveer 1 uur van de pier, met een overvloed aan flora en fauna, vegetatie en Caribische cultuur. Cahuita National Park is een terrestrisch en marien nationaal park in het Caribisch gebied La Amistad Conservation Area van Costa Rica, gelegen aan de zuidelijke Caribische kust in Limón, verbonden met de stad Cahuita. Cahuita is uniek in Costa Rica vanwege de nauwe relatie met de gemeenschap, een voorbeeld van gedeeld beheer tussen de gemeenschap en de overheid voor een duurzame ontwikkeling op gemeenschapsniveau. Participatie van parkwachten en gemeenschapsleven onderscheidt zich door een gedeeld bestuurlijk beheer. In dit ecosysteem, genesteld in het Caribisch gebied maar met een bosrijke omgeving, vindt u soorten zoals wasberen, luiaards, leguanen en basilisken. Je zult ook slangen zien zoals klatergoud en tamagá, en vogels zoals de zwarte havik. In het park is het mogelijk om recreatieve sporten te beoefenen en over de paden te wandelen, of gewoon te genieten van de stranden die zwemmen of zonnebaden.
Puerto Limón, algemeen bekend als Limón, is de hoofdstad en het belangrijkste centrum van de provincie Limón, evenals van het kanton Limón in Costa Rica. Het is de zevende grootste stad van Costa Rica, met een bevolking van meer dan 55.000, en is de thuisbasis van de Afro-Costa Ricaanse gemeenschap. De Caribische provincie is een natuurlijk paradijs, gevormd door een combinatie van dichte jungles, imposante bergen en paradijselijke stranden. Limon heeft het hoogste percentage beschermd land in Costa Rica, evenals een grote verscheidenheid aan flora en fauna. De vegetatie is uitbundig, net als de culturen in de hele provincie.

SPECIALE OPMERKING OVER OPHAALTIJD Al onze ophaaltijden staan standaard ingesteld op 8 : 00 AM. ECHTER : Indien uw schip na 08:00 uur aankomt, zal de Pickup 30 minuten na aankomst van het schip zijn. U kunt uw tour boeken en wij zullen de tijd aanpassen met uw schip aankomst. Als u te laat komt, wachten onze medewerkers op u tot aan het scheepsdok en laten u van boord gaan. Wij voeren al onze tours dienovereenkomstig uit met de aankomst van het schip.

This is the same tour offered by our cruise ship but was a better value. You get three different experiences - 1) a visit to a nearby national park with sloths, monkeys and some birds, 2) an organic banana plantation where you learn both about the fruit and the packaging process and 3) a canal tour on a boat offering close-ups of sloths and caimans. Our guide Nathalie was a delight - very informative, positive and professional.. Highly recommended!

This was a well organized day with a biologist as our guide. He was very knowledgeable, professional and personable. He was aware of the needs of the group and offered spot stop options for those who were mobility challenged. The driver was aware and watched for opportunities to see wildlife en route and stopped for amazing sites. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was a great tour and our guide Natalie was exceptional. The bus and boat were clean and comfortable and Natalie was full of knowledge about the area and all the species. I learned so much in the 6 hours of the tour. Highly recommend this one!

Our guide Ariel was great-Pickup outside the port was easy, transportation was very comfortable and the locations visited were amazing. Ariel shared his wealth and breath of knowledge, never rushed us at the three destinations - Cahuita National Perk, the banana plantation and a river tour and made it a really interesting and fun day. As warned, bring Deet as the mosquitos can be a little aggressive and carry water and snacks as we spent six hours on the tour. There is food and drink that can be bought at the banana plantation and the prices are reasonable. A really nice thing our guide did- let us know that we would be arriving back at the port on time, several times during the day.
