Ik ben opgegroeid in Bukchon, lang voordat het een van Seoul's meest bezochte wijken werd. Sinds februari 2025 maken gasten van over de hele wereld deze verhalentour zeer de moeite waard. Bukchon stond van 1392 tot in de jaren tachtig centraal in de Koreaanse politiek, economie en cultuur. Geleid door een verhalenverteller die hier geboren en getogen is — een filmmaker en scenarioschrijver — wandel je door de steegjes en de verhalen erin. Let op voordat u boekt : • Aanbevolen voor kinderen vanaf 13 jaar (storytelling-gericht). • Draag comfortabele sneakers en neem water mee. • Toiletten beschikbaar op de 30 -, 60 - en 90 - min punten.

Wanneer de koning sterft zonder kroonprins, wordt een 11-jarige koninklijke jongen die hier geboren en getogen is de 26e koning van Joseon. De volgende 10 jaar zou de vader van de jongen het land regeren vanaf hier. Leer over de fascinerende geschiedenis van het Unhyeonggung Paleis en bewonder de uitstekende architectuur van die tijd.
Bewonder de historische architectuur van 600, 100 en 50 jaar geleden en leer de verhalen erachter.
Leer over en waardeer de hanoks van de Yangban, de heersende klasse, die meestal in Seoel woonden.

De middelbare school staat bekend om het filmen van talloze drama's en muziekvideo's, maar het is eigenlijk een historische ruimte die Korea heeft gevormd tot het land dat het nu is. Dit is het verhaal achter zijn geheime geschiedenis.
We volgen de dramatische opkomst en ondergang van machtige politici en zakenmagnaten die ooit land bezaten in Bukchon – een district dat volgens de principes van feng shui als hoofdstad werd gekozen. Vereerd als een gunstige locatie, werd dit felbegeerde land zowel de basis van hun rijkdom en invloed, als de achtergrond van hun uiteindelijke ondergang.

Mr Dong Kim is the best guide we’ve ever had in Seoul. As he was raised in this magnificent neighborhood, walking the streets and alleys with Mr Kim felt like reliving Korean history from the Joseon dynasty to modern Korea. This tour should always be a part of your visit to Bukchon Hanok Village!
