Neem deel aan deze 5-uur durende wandeltocht door het Sai Kwan-gebied in de westelijke regio van het centrum van Guangzhou, waar het een speciale architectuur in Lingnan-stijl heeft om delicate handgemaakte artikelen te bekijken en proef heerlijke Kantonese gerechten. Ervaar het lokale leven en de gebruiken van Guangzhou buiten de gebaande paden. Reis door de honderd jaar oude officiële Wharf, Britse en Franse concessies, de traditionele Chinese Geneesmiddelenmarkt en de Taoïstische Tempel ... enz. om de geschiedenis en gebruiken van Guangzhou te leren.

We nemen Dim Sum mee als lunch in het restaurant in de buurt.
Maak een wandeling en bezoek de buitenlandse concessie van het eiland Shamian, we zullen je de intrigerende geschiedenis van de oude handels- en opiumoorlog in Canton vertellen.
We bezoeken de traditionele Chinese geneesmiddelenmarkt en leren hoe het werkt.
Loop door de voetgangersstraat Shangxiajiu en probeer daar een lokaal dessert.
Loop naar een paar schilderachtige straatjes in het oude centrum en van de gebaande paden naar de natte markt en het Liwan-meerpark, een echt belangrijk onderdeel van het leven in Guangzhou. Daarna bezoeken we de Taoïstische tempel en verkennen een van onze traditionele Chinese religies - taoïsme.
Dit park is een herinnering aan oude stadsmuren van de Ming-dynastie, is 600 jaar geschiedenis, en is de oudste bestaande in Guangzhou stadsmuren. We wandelen door het park en genieten van de historische ruïnes en andere oude bezienswaardigheden, zoals de stadsmuren van de Ming-dynastie en de Five-Ram Sculpture.

The tour is interesting for the introduction to authentic Cantonese dishes and delicacies (to be paid for separately) as well as the less-visited areas of Guangzhou. Do note that the guide’s English is not perfect and some patience would be needed to understand him.
Walking tour was very good, visited places we would not have found on our own, food was ok. Janvi met us at our hotel and adapted the tour to suit us, only negative is he was too softly spoken for us to all hear what he was saying, so he often had to repeat himself or we found ourselves asking others in our group what had been said.
This tour was amazing there is so much history in Guangzhou, a place that is changing rapidly, yet still, in the "Old Town" retains its culture & reminds you of the China that was read about in history books. The Guide was both informative, friendly & you could tell he holds a special place for his work to show the rest of the world the wonders of China. Take the Metro, it is clean, efficient & mingle with the local culture from the beautiful parks to the Toaist temple to the street filled with Herbs & Herbalists ready to make you a remedy for anything that ails you, it is to be found on this tour. Ask your guide about Yum Cha as well as a fitting end to a wonderful tour: I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is going to Guangzhou.
I had a 10hr layover in Guangzhou and so I looked into walking tours. I stumbled upon Janvi's tour and I am so glad I did. Janvi is happy to customize the tour to exactly what interests you. This tour was great! Janvi speaks good English, we discovered the authentic Guangzhou. Walking through local, hidden streets to see local markets and the everyday life of people. Walking into The traditional Chinese medicine market, Janvi taught us what you can find, how to prevent illness. The Memorial hall of Chinese Railway engineer, Liwan lake park, Renwei Taoist Temple to learn more about the culture and history. And Janvi takes you to the best adresses to taste the best dim sum, palm noodles, Cantonese specialties, crisps, desserts in town! Janvi was a great host and very helpful , he explained detailed everything what to do when you arrive with China Southern and have a layover of more than 8 hours, without his help we wouldn't be able to know about the free hotel, etc... his tour and knowledge of the city was fabulous, he shows you the real and true soul of the city, not only the commercial side of Guangzhou, I would definitely recommend his tour and his company , very reliable, specially if you go to a city and a country where you have never been before.
Excellent Authentic Tour! Janvi was exactly the guide we were looking for: a local showing us the real Guangzhou. The choice of eateries where we could try the local cuisine was fantastic. We communicated a lot via email prior to the tour and he was very patient and professional in explaining various options based on the timing of our layover. We loved seeing historic Guangzhou and were so impressed with Janvi's knowledge of the history there. We also LOVED seeing the tucked away markets in the back streets and alleys.
