Deze 8-uur durende aangepaste tour door Kolkata stelt je in staat om de stad op je eigen manier te verkennen. Laat je gids je helpen om de activiteiten te kiezen die het meest bij je interesses passen, zodat je de meest memorabele tijd hebt tijdens je bezoek aan Kolkata. De maximale groepsgrootte voor deze tour is 12.

We beginnen met een rustig bezoek aan St. Paul's Cathedral (30 minuten), genietend van de gotische architectuur en rustige charme
Vervolgens gaan we naar het iconische Victoria Memorial (45 minuten), het verkennen van de tuinen en optioneel het museum binnenstappen.
Terwijl we door BBD Bagh rijden, passeren we het historische Writer’s Building (5 minuten), met verhalen over koloniale macht en revolutie die onderweg worden gedeeld.
Bij BBD Flower Market (30 minuten), de gasten ervaren de levendige chaos en kleur van Kolkata's floral lifeline. Een welverdiende lunchpauze volgt (60 minuten) in een samengestelde lokale eetgelegenheid met authentieke Bengaalse smaken.
Na de lunch verkennen we de literaire ziel van de stad in College Street (45 minuten), bladeren door boekenstalletjes en eventueel koffie drinken in het legendarische Indian Coffee House.
Vervolgens gaan we naar het spirituele hart van Kolkata met een cultureel gevoelig bezoek aan de Kalighat Tempel.
Bezoek de rustige ambiance van de ISKCON Tempel (30 minuten), waar gasten kunnen genieten van bhajans en rustige reflectie.
Onze laatste stop is het diep ontroerende Moeder Teresa’s Huis (30 minuten), waar haar erfenis van compassie tot leven komt. Tegen 17:00 uur keren we terug naar Park Street/uw hotel, met volle harten en verhalen rijker, en sluiten de dag af met een groepsfoto en een welgemeend afscheid.

Saha was great. Perfect english able to understand and anticipate our questions. She gave context and back story to everything we saw. Saha worked our schedule so we could see everything on our list. Our driver also did a great job.

Sen was an excellent guide who tailored my one-day trip to my interests. For example, my most important place was The Mother House. He allowed me extra time and left me in peace to spend some quiet time. He is a great conversationalist and we both have a love of books. Although I had only one day, I felt I was able to see some of the most important highlights Kolkata has to offer.

...just actually. Kolkata is a hard patch and was our last destination after 3 months of India round trip. So we did a lot of sightseeing, but the car was a completely dirty and demolished Uber car with an extremely unmotivated driver who was constantly sleeping or picking his nose. If it weren't for our guide Soham, we would have dropped out. The business model is not yet mature. 😉

My tour started badly, and late, as the guide just sat in my hotel lobby and made no effort to find me. I had to telephone the tour company. The guide was not very knowledgable and gave limited explanations where much more could have been said. And despite the late start, the guide was very keen to finish on time. Rather disappointing for a fairly expensive tour.
I arranged this trip for my aging parents living locally in Kolkata. Their tour guide Mr. Prosenjit was very knowledgeable and courteous to my parents and was indeed a very customized trip! Collected by Manashi and the driver 15 minutes before our planned time to have a chat about what WE wanted to do... the day could not have been more perfect. Manashi made suggestions and we went with the majority of them to create our day. No rushing about, took our time to see what we wanted and had the most amazing Bengali Mutton Curry in the most perfect restaurant. Would I change anything about the day? Yes..... I’d book 2 days with Manashi :-) We have made a friend for life with this lady and we are so honoured to have shared the day with her

When you are in any city and you are new it is advisable to take a one day custom trip to the place and you will come to know the culture ,custom etc. Similarly in Kolkata also the full day custom trip will be of very helpful to know the city well.
<p>Our guide met us promptly at our pickup location and was very friendly with excellent English. He came across as a little pushy with regard to the itinerary as we had a set number of things we wanted to see in our limited time. Unfortunately, one of our two priorities, the Mother House, is closed from 12-3 every day and all day Thursdays, which he was apparently unaware of as well, so we only got to see one of the two places we really wanted to go. Took an interesting drive around the city though, so feel like we got to at least see Kolkata from the car.</p>
<p>We were able to do some research and provide our guide with a list of our interests ahead of time. This enabled him to plan a route and determine what there would be time for and what was within a reasonable driving distance. We expressed interest in the wetlands as we're interested in birds and the guide, who is also a naturalist, took us to a fantastic bird sanctuary within the city and we got some totally fantastic pictures. We were in Kolkata during a festival that jammed up the roads and on a day when it was raining. Both the guide and the driver made super human efforts to enable us to at least get photographs of the places in which we were interested. This was a phenomenal tour, partially due to the skills and enthusiasm of our guide. BUT kudos to Viator for making something like this available - it was hard to find a tour where we were interested in everything that was included and this facilitated a wonderful experience tailored to our interests.</p>
