Het Plaza de Mayo (Meiplein) ligt in het centrum van Porteño, in de wijk Monserrat, op de plek waar Buenos Aires is gesticht. De Plaza de Mayo is het belangrijkste en oudste openbare plein van de stad. De naam van dit plein herdenkt de revolutie van 25 mei 1810, de datum waarop de burgers zich verzamelden om de Viceroy te verstoten en een creoolse regering te vormen. Sindsdien is het plein een stille getuige van de belangrijkste politieke en sociale gebeurtenissen in het land.
San Telmo is een oude wijk met een Boheems accent dankzij de tijdelijke kunstgalerieën, nachtcafé's en muurschilderingen. De straat Defensa, vol met antiekwinkels en bruisende brasserieën, loopt over het Dorrego-plein, waar veel toeristen op zondag komen om de straatmarkt en straatoptredens te zien. Kronkelende wegen doorlopen het Lezama-park onder jacaranda-bomen. De wijk loopt over van exclusieve restaurants met tangoshows.
La Boca is een volksbuurt met meerdere attracties naast de Riachuelo. Asadores en straatartiesten domineren de hele Caminito, een smal steegje geflankeerd door felgekleurde zinkhuizen die de oorsprong als immigrantenwijk oproepen. De Bombonera is het stadion van de Boca Juniors en een waar mekka op wedstrijddagen. De Proa Foundation is een museum voor moderne kunst met tijdelijke tentoonstellingen en uitzicht op de oude haven.
'Caminito' is een museumsteeg en een traditionele passage van grote culturele en toeristische waarde, gelegen in de wijk La Boca van de stad Buenos Aires, Argentinië. De plaats verwierf culturele betekenis omdat het als inspiratie diende voor de muziek van de beroemde tango 'Caminito' (1926), gecomponeerd door Juan de Dios Filiberto.
Puerto Madero is een gerenoveerde wijk met uitzicht op de baai. De gerenoveerde gebouwen van rode bakstenen huisvesten exclusieve grillrestaurants bezocht door toeristen en zakenlieden voor de lunch. Er zijn ook moderne wolkenkrabbers met multinationals en luxe appartementen. De meren in dit gebied zijn omringd door paden, zoals de ecologische reserve Costanera Sur, zeer populair bij joggers en gezinnen. De elegante Vrouwen-hangbrug vormt een verbinding tussen de havens.
Retiro is een wijk met grote diversiteit en rustige straten. Kunstgalerieën en chique cafés leiden naar het sfeervolle en drukke treinstation Retiro, Britse stijl en omgeven door fastfoodkraampjes. De art-decotoren van het Kavanagh-gebouw biedt uitzicht op de Plaza San Martín, een steil park, waar kantoorwerknemers rusten in de schaduw van jacaranda-bomen en patriottische monumenten. Toeristen stromen samen in het voetgangersgebied Florida, voor de boetieks met lederwaren, souvenirkraampjes en tangodansers.
Recoleta is een bloeiend gebied, ideaal om te wandelen, bekend om zijn rijtjeshuizen in Parijse stijl, oude weelderige paleizen en luxe boetieks. Het Nationaal Museum voor Schone Kunsten toont meesterwerken van Argentijnse kunstenaars en het Recoleta Cultureel Centrum biedt tijdelijke avant-garde tentoonstellingen. Op de Plaza Francia, met grasvelden, is er in het weekend een ambachtelijke markt.

If you're looking for a safe and enjoyable way to explore Buenos Aires, I highly recommend this tour! I went on my own while my traveling companions were working, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. The tour guide was absolutely wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke perfect English. The small group of just three people made the experience feel personal and relaxed. We explored all four corners of Buenos Aires by both car and on foot, giving us a fantastic overview of the city. It was the perfect introduction to Buenos Aires, and I would definitely do it again!

I received a message the day before that the tour would pick me up at my hotel at 11:30 - it wasn't until after 11:50. I would have appreciated a message that the pickup was running late. I had to call the number on the email, and chase down where the tour was. Very disappointing that the guide wasn't more proactive in calling or emailing me.

Booking this tour was a good decision for my trip to Buenos Aires. Pablo, the tour guide, took incredibly good care of the group and made me feel like I was exploring the city with an older brother. His warm and friendly approach immediately made us feel at home, and he is a truly great representative of his culture.Pablo provided fantastic, in-depth information about all the historic landmarks and neighborhoods we visited. He went above and beyond by giving us excellent local suggestions for cafes, restaurants, and hidden gems that only a true local would know. This tour gave me the perfect foundation and a general idea of exactly what I wanted to do during the rest of my stay in Argentina.
It is a good tour to get a quick overview of Buenos Aires before you go explore on your own. The trip is for 3 hours and we spend first hour picking up people so effectively it is a two hour quick express tour. We didn’t spend more than 10-15 minutes at stops except La Boca where we had a 25 minute break. Recommended if you are short on time!
