I highly recommend Best Slovakia Tours to book a trip. This is the 2nd year we have booked a private tour for my husband and I to Slovakia and other countries with them. The owner, Peter, is a joy to work with. He makes planning the trip so easy and truly tailors the trip for sights and activities which meet our interests. He understands the type of accommodations we like and the hotels have been exceptional. I'm normally very hands on when planning a trip but Peter did such a wonderful job last year, this year I just trusted in his suggestions and didn't research or question any of the plans he made for our trip. I just gave him a green light for activities and hotels and we were very pleased with everything. This year we spent 18 days touring Slovakia, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia with our exceptional private guide Martin. We stayed in Bratislava for 4 days using it as our base for traveling to nearby areas doing genealogy research. Martin was a huge help in our effects and I believe he had as much fun as we did with it. (Last year Martin was very instrumental in finding information I had been seeking for 15 years). We uncovered new mysteries which our schedule did not allow time to find answers for them so we are going back next year to do more research. After that we went on a tour of Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. Martin is an exceptional guide. He is very knowledgeable, knows history of the lands, is interesting and he is a lot of fun. Martin is also very considerate. He is always mindful of our needs and takes exceptional care of us. One simple example: we were walking on a wall in Croatia on a hot day - Martin gave me an umbrella to protect me from the sun. We cannot say enough good things about Martin and Peter. They feel like family. We even had the honor to go to Martin's for a BBQ and meet his lovely wife and adorable children. I first made communication with Peter through a highly respected Slovak genealogist. When I contacted him about planning a trip to Slovakia, he referred me to Peter and I am certainly glad he did. We have enjoyed our trips with Best Slovakia Tours so much we are planning a trip for next year to tour other parts of Slovakia and to Poland.

We had an absolutely wonderful tour with Peter, from start to finish. No one from our group had been to Slovakia before this trip. Our experience with Peter on the 3 hour Bratislava Premium Walking tour not only showed us the highlights of the city (which are amazing - from castles, churches, beautiful streets and squares to reminders of the Soviet years) but taught us about the complicated history of the country. In addition to an in depth look at Bratislava, Peter gave us recommendations for other towns to see, and where to eat when there. His recommendations were all fantastic. In sum, Peter's depth of knowledge and his passion for his work made the tour a highlight of our vacation. We all highly recommend the tour. It is best to do upon arrival in Slovakia so that you have this foundation as you explore other parts of the country. IN the future, we will contact Peter for tours of other Eastern European cities.

Fascinating tour of Old Town Bratislava. Peter was an excellent guide - made the history of his city entertaining and very informative. All 9 of us thoroughly enjoyed the two hours which flew by.

What a wonderful day! I truly enjoyed seeing the city through the eyes of a local. Martin was able to tell me so much about its history, as well as current events. We visited the castle, toured the center city, the Blue Church, and even saw the Mayor! Nice recommendations for other things to see in the area, and the best place for gelato. Nice, relaxed pace. Highly recommend.

Peter did a fantastic job providing me with a tour of the castle and other landmarks, deftly mixing ample historical facts with all of the sights he showed me!

Outstanding, comprehensive tour! Martin was our tour guide and he was knowledgable and friendly. We walked up to the Bratislava Castle while Martin explained a great deal about the history of the country. We took a brief break at the top of the hill at the cafe since the Castle wasn't open for tours (it was the day after Christmas). Then we carefully walked down and around the city, exploring the Jewish quarter, several churches, the shopping district, and other points of interest. Highly recommend!
