Loop naar het kasteel van Bratislava, een dominant kenmerk van Bratislava. Het kasteel staat op een strategische plek boven de Donau. De site werd al in het Keltische en Groot-Moravische rijk bewoond. Heeft altijd een belangrijke rol gespeeld in de geschiedenis van Slowakije en Midden-Europa. Het kasteel van Bratislava organiseert in februari 2005 een groot evenement. Op het kasteel hadden George W. Bush en Vladimir Poetin de top. Bratislava was letterlijk een tijdje de hoofdstad van de wereld. Vanaf het kasteel van Bratislava heeft u een prachtig uitzicht op de oude binnenstad. Ook in Oostenrijk kun je de windmolens zien. Loop verder door de burcht van Bratislava en kijk uit op de orthodoxe Sint-Nicolaaskerk. Ga verder door het Joodse getto naar het centrum van Bratislava. Het stadscentrum van Bratislava ontdekken.

Slowakije maakte ongeveer 1000 jaar deel uit van het Hongaarse, daarna het Oostenrijks-Hongaarse rijk. Uiteindelijk eindigt het verhaal in 1993 met de oprichting van onafhankelijk Slowakije. Maar het verhaal eindigt helemaal niet. Vanaf 2004 zijn we een trots lid van de Europese Unie. En vanaf 2009 is onze munteenheid EURO.

We had an enjoyable night tour with Daria. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was lovely to see the city at night with the lights. At the end of the tour we were taken to a cute restaurant that served us a delicious glass of wine and a small snack which was a great way to end the tour. I do think the communication prior to the tour could improve. Would love a confirmation message. Apart from that we had a really lovely tour.

Wonderful evening in the square learning about the Bratislavan history. Very knowledgeable and the wine at the end was superb. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in European history.
