De reis begint bij het prachtige Peles-kasteel in Sinaia, waar u de wachtrij vermijdt om het luxueuze interieur te verkennen. In de omgeving kunt u het historische Sinaia-klooster bezoeken, bewonderd om zijn opvallende architectuur en spirituele betekenis. Ontdek vervolgens het legendarische kasteel van Bran, beroemd om Vlad de Spietser en Dracula. Uw gids zal boeiende verhalen delen over de geschiedenis en overlevering. Geniet van traditionele Roemeense gerechten in een lokaal restaurant in Bran dorp, op uw verzoek. De tour gaat verder naar het schilderachtige Rasnov Fort, met adembenemende uitzichten en inzicht in het historische belang ervan. Onze eerste bestemming is het toeristische stadje Sinaia, waar het kasteel van Peles zich bevindt. Om daar te komen moeten we door de Prahova-vallei gaan en elegante bergplaatsen Predeal, Azuga en Busteni achterlaten die voortdurend een groot aantal Roemeense en buitenlandse toeristen aantrekken, op de weg die de wervelende Prahova-rivier kruist. Adembenemende natuurlijke schoonheid wordt voor je ogen geopend, maar het meest spectaculaire uitzicht is vanuit Busteni, waar je de hoogste toppen van het Bucegi-gebergte kunt bewonderen: Caraiman Peak, Costila Peak en Omu Peak. Aankomst in Sinaia, ooit een exclusief aristocratisch resort, waar we het kasteel van Peles bezoeken, de zomerresidentie van de voormalige Roemeense koninklijke familie. Kasteel van Peles is een van de mooiste musea in Roemenië en werd in bijna 40 jaar gebouwd door koning Charles 1.

Aankomst in Sinaia, ooit een exclusief aristocratisch resort, waar we het Peles kasteel bezoeken, de zomerresidentie van de voormalige Roemeense koninklijke familie. Peles Castle is een van de mooiste musea in Roemenië en werd in bijna 40 jaar gebouwd door koning Karel 1.
Onderweg naar Bran Castle vind je een van de oudste kloosters van het land, het Sinaia-klooster. Met een geschiedenis die 300 jaar teruggaat, gekenmerkt door een speciale relatie met de koninklijke familie, is dit eerbiedwaardige klooster een must-see attractie dankzij de twee kerken die 150 jaar uit elkaar zijn gebouwd.
We vervolgen onze reis naar het beroemde Bran Castle. Om er te komen moeten we door Prahova Valley, elegante bergresorts Predeal, Azuga en Busteni die voortdurend een groot aantal Roemeense en buitenlandse toeristen trekken, achterlaten op de weg die de kolkende Prahova-rivier kruist. Adembenemend natuurschoon wordt voor je ogen geopend, maar het meest spectaculaire uitzicht is vanaf Busteni waar je de hoogste toppen van het Bucegi-gebergte kunt bewonderen: Caraiman Peak, Costila Peak en Omu Peak. Ook wel Dracula's Castle genoemd, is het gelegen aan de ingang van Bran-Rucar pas. Een opmerkelijke architectonische, het monument werd gebouwd tussen 1377-1382 op een rots 60 m. Na het bezoek aan Bran Castle gaat u naar een lokaal restaurant voor lunch van verse salades, traditionele soepen, heerlijke sarmale, vlees, kip, groenten en andere regionale tarieven (drankjes en maaltijden op eigen kosten). Traditionele lunch kan worden geregeld in Bran dorp.
Bezoek het fort Rasnov, dat in de 13e eeuw werd gebouwd, is misschien wel de meest betoverende van allemaal! Het fort is het grootste in Transsylvanië en een van de best bewaarde in Roemenië. Prachtig panorama over Barsa Land vanaf de top van het fort.

Alina was such a fantastic guide for us. She really knew her stuff and was totally engaging telling us all about the history of the places we went to plus about her own experiences of growing up in Romania during pivotal times in the country's recent history. We got held up in traffic for a large part of the day but she made sure we still saw and enjoyed all parts of the tour. Would highly recommend. There may be some tickets that you require on top of the tour booking so do check this as soon as you are able as they may sell out during peak times of the year.

Excellent day with an excellent guide. Marius was very informative and accommodating. We learned so much from the day and had excellent food too thanks to Marius. Would highly recommend this activity. Visiting these places would not be the same experience without the local guides to give the history. We also received history and information on local buildings and areas on route to these castles/fortress.

Bogdon was a great guide — he’s very informative and has a good sense of humor. He also was flexible and gave good suggestions when it came to having some free time to ourselves and avoiding crowded times at the tourist sites. We were fortunate to have him as our guide and that we ended up being the only two people in what would’ve otherwise been a small group, so it felt like a private tour. Râşnov Fortress is still undergoing renovations at the time, so we were not able to explore the inside.

I highly recommend this tour. Not only do you see several castles and a monastery but you do it with a guide who knows the best parking areas, has an excellent understanding of the history of the area and speaks English extremely well.
