What a wonderful experience with Dr Michalis and his wife and lovely staff. The road is a little hairy getting there but well worth the trip. We were given carob juice while sitting under the carob tree, rose water and homemade lemonade, plus orange slices to suck on, all while being regaled with tales of Dr Michalis' life, which were funny and very interesting. Next a tour of the garden, with information on many of the plants, who knew there were 20 varieties of dragon fruit? Then back for more lemonade and more stories, plus samples of the essential oils and fragrances. And all for €10! A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours in a beautiful and informative space
Michael and his wife were very welcoming from the moment we arrived. Informative tour by Michael, we stayed and had drinks with him and his wife after everyone from the tour had left. Felt so relaxed and at ease. Drank fresh lemonade made from their own produce, whilst enjoying the beautiful views from this spot. What Michael and his wife have achieved is nothing short of amazing! Recent introduction of glamping pods, we will definitely consider staying there when returning back to Cyprus. Please note- the track to get to the botanical gardens is bumpy, we had a hire car that was low to the ground so decided to park on the main road and took a 5 minute walk there, just to be safe! Thank you, we will be back!
Definitely a must place to go and see. Everything you want to know about the gardens, botanical oils, herbs, plants, flowers etc was all a part of the tour. Fruit and drinks also included in the very reasonably priced entrance fee. Will be going again for sure. Michalis was so funny and highly entertaining as a host and tour guide.
Really interesting and engaging tour. Beautiful gardens with great views
Fabulous experience having the full tour wirh Dr Michael. His knowledge of herbal medicine exceptional. I have never taken prescription medicine from childhood. Now age 69 Very serious Cardiac issues, Cancer 7 times, Osteoprosis, Rheumatism in the spine I still take no pharmaceuticals. I had an idyllic two week stay staying in Lavendar pod. Dr Michael, his wife, his staff and puppy dog made me feel one of their family. Currently stuck in India for 4 weeks in and out of hospitals not stable enough to fly back to London.
We stumbled across the gardens by accident whilst out cycling and we were so pleased we did. a wonderful welcome from Maria and then an extremely interesting chat from Michalis while he talked us through and allowed us to sample the essential oils they make from their garden. we were so well looked after with refreshments and samples of fruit from the garden. Michalis is so knowledgeable and we found the tour of the gardens to be very interesting. such warm, genuine, informative hosts. we were sent on our way with water and warmth in our hearts. I 100% recommend this little gem to anyone visiting Cyprus. Good luck with The Masterplan 🤞🍀
I walked over from Tala, which proved a challenge in the heat, however the welcome from Michalis and the experience made the effort well worthwhile. Michalis kept us all entertained, introducing us to numerous essential oils and the benefits of each, while keeping us hydrated with various juices all made with produce from the gardens and indeed the occasional Zivania, again made from the produce in the gardens. The time at his little bar was then followed by a tour of the gardens, where, again, Michalis imparted his knowledge of the various fona grown in the garden. Finally returning to the bar for, again home made carob juice. All in all a very informative and entertaining time, which we highly recomend you enjoy while in Cyprus.
Very friendly host and lovely place. It can be recommended, however, the children must be quite patient. The host obviously knows a lot about aromatic substances and likes to tell. We got cool drinks and delicious watermelon upon arrival.
We visited the Adonis Botanic Garden and had a wonderful experience. You’ll definitely need a car to get there, as it’s tucked away off the beaten path—but it’s absolutely worth the trip. The host was incredibly welcoming, with a clear passion and deep knowledge of the local flora and their uses. The tour was informative and engaging, giving great insight into the traditional uses of herbs and plants in the region. We especially enjoyed sampling the fresh, homemade cordials and refreshing drinks—perfect on a warm day! There was also a great opportunity to try various aromatic oils, and we ended up buying a few favorites to take home. Do note that it’s a small place, so don’t expect a long garden walk. But what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm and authenticity. Highly recommended for anyone interested in nature, wellness, or local Cypriot traditions.
Beautiful place - but you need a car to get there! Host is clearly really knowledgeable and enthused about the whole place! He knows every plant, every herbal remedy and how to talk the hind leg off a donkey!! Very welcoming and you get given refreshments of his home made cordials, home grown fruit, try his essential oils plus tour this beautiful place,
