Chateau Bojnice, een van de oudste en ongetwijfeld meest charmante monumenten in Slowakije. De laatste aristocratische eigenaar, graaf John Palfy, besloot het kasteel om te bouwen tot een romantisch kasteel in neogotische stijl. Als model gebruikte hij de Franse kastelen van de Loire-vallei. Bewonder het volledig ingerichte interieur tijdens uw begeleide kasteelrondleiding. Lunchpauze en rit naar het sprookjesachtige dorp Cicmany, beroemd om zijn geschilderde houten huizen. Ontdek tijdens onze luxe privétour het prachtige kasteel Bojnice, - herbouwd in de 19-20e eeuw door de laatste eigenaar - graaf John Palfy, die het ombouwde tot het romantische sprookjesachtige kasteel. Volg een rondleiding door elke kamer, luister naar de verhalen, maak foto's en geniet. Lunchpauze in het aanbevolen restaurant.
We gaan verder naar het dorp Cicmany (40 minuten rijden door de schilderachtige heuvels van Strazovske), beroemd om zijn houten huizen met witte ornamenten. Wij laten u graag een prachtig stukje Slowakije zien. Keer terug naar Bratislava (2 uur rijden). Tijdens de rondleiding krijg je een overzicht van de geschiedenis van 2000 jaar, de turbulente 20e eeuw, WO 1, oprichting van Tsjechoslowakije, WO 2, oprichting van de Tsjechoslowaakse Socialistische Republiek, communisme, Fluwelen Revolutie, Slowakije en het hedendaagse leven. Bojnice Castle is simply beautiful. Modeled on a French chateau, it started as a medieval castle then underwent several style changes in its history. The result is a blend of towers and courtyards that are extremely attractive. We took a tour of the inside, which was extensive, and visited many rooms. You can also walk around the entire castle. The second part of the trip was to the village of Cicmany. This place is unique. Many of the houses are built of wood, and decorated with rows of white symbols depicting things from life and death, sheep, chickens and peacocks. The town dates back to medieval times, and you can enter two of the houses that are museums.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to Cicmany and Bojnice with Majka, our tour guide. Majka shared a lot of information with us along the way which gave us excellent insights into both destinations. Cicmany is a stunning and unique village with its wooden houses covered in white markings, and Bojnice Chateau is truly a fairytale castle. Don't let the eight hours needed for this tour put you off, as both places are well worth a visit and the Slovakian countryside is really beautiful. The Chateau and the small village were great, the drive through the Slovak regions relaxed and very nice. Best SlovakiaTours recently organised a 10 day tour of Slovenia, with Tour Guide Martin in charge.
