Je dag begint wanneer je chauffeur je ophaalt bij je hotel en je naar je eerste stop brengt: het Monserrate Sanctuary, gelegen in de imposante oostelijke heuvels van de stad, op een hoogte van 3150MASL. Met een kabelbaan naar de top van de berg stijgend, bereikt u het meest beroemde pelgrimsoord van de stad en misschien wel de meest ongelooflijke uitkijkplek in de hoofdstad. Dit is de beste plek om de historische en ruimtelijke contextualisering van de stad te begrijpen.
Als u de rondleiding door de stad wilt voltooien, steekt u de grens van La Candelaria over en wordt u ondergedompeld in de meest indrukwekkende verzameling van inheemse gouden voorwerpen in het goudmuseum. Als je weggaat, heb je de kans om te gaan winkelen op de handwerkmarkt in Parque Santander.
Na de wandeltocht in La Candelaria bereikt u de Plaza de Bolívar. Het is hier waar administratieve en overheidsgebouwen - die iconen zijn van de historische processen die in ons land worden uitgevoerd - het centrale plein van de Plaza omringen.
Als u de rondleiding door de stad wilt voltooien, steekt u de grens van La Candelaria over en wordt u ondergedompeld in de meest indrukwekkende verzameling van inheemse gouden voorwerpen in het goudmuseum. Als je weggaat, heb je de kans om te gaan winkelen op de handwerkmarkt in Parque Santander.
Zodra de stadsrondleiding voorbij is, wordt u naar het charmante stadje Zipaquirá gebracht, waar u de Zipaquirá-zoutkathedraal zult bezoeken. Dit is een plek waar de mystiek van Muiscas (inheemse cultuur), katholieke symboliek en hedendaagse techniek samenkwamen om bezoekers mee te nemen op een magische tour door tunnels en gewelven van indrukwekkende afmetingen. Tijdens deze tour zul je een oude zoutmijn binnengaan die is aangepast om een kathedraal te worden. Hier hebben kunstenaars en beeldhouwers de ondergrondse materialen gemanipuleerd om originele afbeeldingen van katholieke symbolen te maken. Leer van een deskundige gids over dit proces en de betekenis achter de kunstwerken die je op tournee ziet.
Daarna ga je naar het koloniale dorp Zipaquirá, waar je door het centrale plein loopt dat wordt omringd door verschillende gebouwen die tot nationale monumenten zijn uitgeroepen. Hier proef je een aantal heerlijke gebakken gerechten uit de regio en bekijk je de lokale ambachtelijke markt. Ten slotte ga je terug naar Bogotá waar je naar je hotel wordt gebracht.

The tour guide was outstanding and considering we had only 1 day and it was Easter weekend she ensured that we saw all the highlights of that beautiful city.
We took this tour of the Zipiquira salt mine and cathedral and then had a walking tour around the old part of Bogota, Bolivar Square, and the Museo de Oro and it was all great. What I really want to rave about is the very wonderful tour guide we had--Viviana Castro. She's excellent and very knowledgeable I highly recommend that you ask if she's available to be your guide. We landed that morning and were picked up at the airport (here's what I don't understand. Why did we have to pay an extra $20 to be picked up from the airport instead of from a hotel??) and spent the next 10 hours seeing the sights with our own private guide and driver.
My family was met outside the exit of Colombian customs at the Bogota airport by a very friendly Impulse driver who took us to the JW Marriott hotel. The following 2 days we were picked up by Impulse who provided a driver and tour guide that took us on the Bogota City tour, Zipaquira Salt Cathedral and Lake Guatavita tours. All tours were fantastic and included a traditional Colombian lunch. I traveled with my family for this tour and the people of Colombia were very warm and embracing! Impulse provided exceptional service at a great price! Colombia is going to be the next top hot spot for travel now that it is safe. Get there before the tourist take over.
Excellent guide and driver. Andres was my private guide and he was very knowledgeable about everything. The Salt Cathedral was the most amazing church I’ve ever seen. Monserrat had an amazing view of the city. I just wished that it was in the evening with all the festive lights surrounding the place. Highly recommended!
I took the tour that included the City Tour of Bogota plus the Cathedral of Sal. It is one of the most complete tours because you can see basically the main attractions of Bogotá (plus the Salt Cathedral in one day). The tour is private so it was much better. Felipe is an excellent guide. Very pleasant and knowledgeable. Our driver, Maria, was also very kind. They were always on time and the car was very clean.
