Boedapest Joodse keuken en cultuurwandeling

Boedapest heeft een van de grootste Joodse gemeenschappen in Midden-Europa en deze 4 uur durende wandeling belicht het rijke joodse culturele en culinaire erfgoed. Met een gids die van eten houdt, verken je de oude Joodse wijk, het Joodse getto van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en nu een hippe buurt. Bewonder de neoclassicistische straten, bekijk Dohány Street Synagogue en WWII memorials en proef Hongaars-Joodse basisproducten zoals 'flodni' (appel-, walnoot- en maanzaadgebak). Geniet van een Joodse lunch en sluit af met een koosjer 'pálinka' (fruitbrandewijn) in een trendy ruïnekroeg. Deze wandeling is beperkt tot acht personen voor een kleine groepservaring.

Ontmoet je gids in het zevende district van Boedapest, een centrum van het joodse leven dat momenteel een renaissance doormaakt als een van de hipste buurten van de stad. Duik in deze historische wijk terwijl je gids de middeleeuwse wortels uitlegt en hoe het tot de Tweede Wereldoorlog de thuisbasis was van een bloeiende Joodse gemeenschap. Hoor hoe het gebied tijdens de oorlog het Joodse getto vormde en hoe degenen die het overleefden de basis vormden voor de huidige gemeenschap van de stad en de levendige Joodse cultuur. Wandel door de lommerrijke straten langs neoklassieke huizen en synagogen terwijl je gids hun rol in de huidige gemeenschap uitlegt. Maak verschillende stops bij eetgelegenheden om te genieten van een aantal traditionele Joodse specialiteiten. Monsters variëren op elke tour op basis van beschikbaarheid, maar gerechten die u kunt proberen, zijn onder meer turos taska, flodni en hartige nietjes zoals worst en knisperende gans.
Stop om enkele van de Joodse WO II-gedenktekens te bekijken en bewonder de Moorse buitenkant van de Dohány Street Synagogue, de grootste synagoge van Europa. Bekijk ook enkele van de straatkunst- en designerwinkels in het gebied die getuigen van de hippe referenties.
We bezoeken een restaurant en genieten van een traditionele Joodse lunch met specialiteiten zoals ganzensoep en solet (bonenstoofpot), vergezeld van wijn. Praat met uw gids en metgezellen terwijl u eet en rond uw maaltijd in deze wijnkelder af met een voorproefje van koosjere pálinka!

This was a wonderful experience, very small group, excellent information and very yummy food tastings. Gabor led us and he was experienced, warm and knowledgeable. Loved our traditional stuffed cabbage, local cheeses from the marketplace and other items. I recommend this tour.
The Jewish Culture and Food walking tour with guide Eszter was amazing! She has a very pleasant personality and was very knowledgeable about the history of the Jewish Quarter and the local foods. My husband and I were very lucky to be the only 2 persons to be with Eszter, just like a private tour. The dishes we had were very tasty and not familiar to us. We were able to tour the inside of the more conservative synagogue, which is very beautiful inside. The tour ended at the famous ruin bar Szimpla Kert with a shot of palinka! Thank you so much Eszter, we had a wonderful time with you.
Eszter is an amazing tour guide. We learned so much about the Jewish history in Hungary as we walked the area and stopped for traditional Jewish foods along the way. Eszter kept it interesting and was patient with our many questions. She kindly gave us a list of recommendations tailored to our stay. Excellent experience!

This was a wonderful tour!! Anna was extremely knowledgeable about history and cuisine. We really enjoyed our time with her and learning about Hungarian Jewish history. Plus, the matza ball soup was AMAZING!! Would highly recommend this tour, especially with Anna!
The guide was spectacular. They were very informed. The food was great. That is all I wish to state.
We toured with George who was very knowledgeable about Jewish history. There were 4 of us on the tour. He took us to the small synagogue and we walked around for about 2 hours with really no stopping. We then had a traditional Hungarian Jewish lunch with wine and then we toured for about another 45 minutes and he said goodbye. While I thought the tour was good, it was not as advertised. We stopped nowhere else to try any drinks or food offerings. Don’t get me wrong, after lunch I wasn’t even a little hungry but the tour I was expecting was more walk a little try something, continue and that’s not what it was. He also did not end where we started. When the 4 hours hit, he said goodbye and it was up to us to figure out where we were. It was a nice tour overall but not as advertised.
