Blue Cave kajak- en snorkelavontuur vanuit Kotor/Tivat

Beschrijving

This excursion was awesome!! Kayaking on the Adriatic was an incredible experience. So beautiful! The blue caves and black caves should not be missed. Breathtaking lees and unforgettable, brilliant water. The black caves were so cool - like nothing we’ve experienced before. Armando was the BEST!! He took us through the caves and rocks and led us to the most amazing swimming and snorkeling areas. His experience and expertise was top notch. He made the experience informative, fun, and safe. We highly recommend this excursion!!
Armando was an amazing guide! we beat the crowds (and omg the crowds!) to the blue cave and swam around in peace until they came, then we explored other lesser known caves, including ones that non-kayaks could never reach. All the while, Armando told us about the area and only brought the good vibes. If you are looking for the best blue cave tour and aren’t afraid to do the paddling yourself, I can’t recommend this enough!
Our kayak tour to the Blue Cave was one of the highlights of our trip! Armando was an outstanding guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the paddle so much easier with his tips and encouragement. He made sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. What we appreciated most was that he never rushed us. We had plenty of time to get out and snorkel in the beautiful Blue Cave instead of just passing through. He also took us to several smaller caves and gorgeous hidden spots where we could swim and snorkel in crystal-clear water. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and Armando’s relaxed, fun attitude made the entire experience even better. If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure with an amazing guide, I highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Armando, for such a wonderful day!
The sea was too rough for us to feel comfortable launching and paddling to the Blue Cave, so Armando took us to an alternate site, where we paddle boarded in the Bay of Kotor. The bay was perfectly calm, not even any cruise ships, and we had a lovely morning on the water!
Let me start off by saying that we booked this kayak/Blue Cave excursion and didn't get it. The night before, someone from the tour company messaged me and suggested that we not do the kayak to the cave since we weren't scheduled for first thing in the morning. he said when you go later in the day, the caves are inundated with hundreds of boats and people and it's not a good experience. He then proceeded to sell me on the cable car and bicycling down the mountain which, e said if we could ride bikes, we could easily do. He said it was very easy and would be a better experience for us. Also said he'd owe us like 10 Euro back or something in the price difference. Ha. Straight from the beginning, the tour felt disorganized and fairly unprofessional. We ended up waiting a long time at the meetup location for a couple other people who never arrived. The van - as mentioned by some others - was pretty gross. The cable car ride up was beautiful, but this is something we could have done on our own. My daughter and I wanted to ride the alpine coaster that is up on the top. Our guides, Simon and Henry, kind of tried to talk us out of it saying the lines are usually long and it's not that great, but if we wanted to do it, there would be time if the lines weren't bad. Well, there weren't any lines as all and it was actually super fun. We're really glad we did it. Also, the person who messaged me the day before advised me to get the fast track ticket for the alpine coaster, which. I did buy online beforehand. Total waste of money as there were no lines. On to the bike ride. it was really stressful. The riding is not "easy" for a beginner rider. My daughter is not a confident cyclist. She can ride a bike, but has never gone down a mountain before. We were riding on the side of the main road (not a bike path) where cars, shuttles, motorcycles, and full sized tour buses go up and down the mountain. For a large part of the ride, the road is single lane with switchbacks and not a lot of safety on the drop-off side. For a nervous rider, the choices of being really steady on the side of the narrow road while vehicles whiz by you, get hit head-on by a bus, or fall off the side of a mountain were pretty intense. Basically, my daughter was afraid the entire time down and I was really stressed out watching her as I could tell she was scared and shaky. No you don't need to be an advanced bike rider to do this activity, but you should be very comfortable on a bike riding in traffic on a steep hill. Here's what actually made me peeved though, later that night, I talked to a few different people on our cruise who, in fact, DID kayak to the Blue Cave in the afternoon and got to swim in the water with a different tour company, and they had an amazing time! UGH! So mad. We feel absolutely ripped off as the next day it rained and we didn't get a chance to see the caves then either. It's not like we're going to be in the area again, soon. The final piece that got me irked was the fact that our guides were not actually locals. They were nomadic backpackers doing temp gigs. One guy was from the UK and had been there for 2.5 weeks. I guess anyone can just lead this company's tour. Wtf. The guys were very nice, but it did feel a lot like two frat boys off the street were offered a few bucks to lead some people on an activity they could have done on their own. These excursions aren't cheap and people are often traveling from very far to have unique and memorable experiences. It would be great if Montenegro+ treated their end of the business with a little more professional care. Pros: The "guides" were nice. We got some beautiful views. Cons: Felt unprofessional and even unsafe. We feel ripped off that we were manipulated into an activity that wasn't what we wanted. Feel like we wasted our time and money.
Amy, I am the guy who convinced you not to do the kayak tour after 8am. And, I would do that again, as around 8:45 AM boats start to arrive at the cave and from then on it builds into a literal flotilla. When we arrive late we don’t spend more than three or four minutes in the cave as the fumes and the propellers make it simply impossible, it’s noxious and it’s dangerous. I can show you photos of what the cave looks like at 10 AM and I guarantee you, you would not want to be inside it then. Regarding the bicycle tour, I apologize, we can’t predict when there are lines. Frequently, there are lines and the reason we made the suggestion was so that you didn’t have to wait, we get no benefit from you buying a fast track ticket. The bicycle tour is something that we run almost daily, for many years. It’s not for everyone, however, as the reviews indicate, most people really love it. I’m very sorry that your daughter struggled. We just wanted you to have a good experience when you were in Port and suggest the switch. We never want a client to have a bad experience, and there’s no financial benefit to us, if a client doesn’t have a good experience. Regarding guides, you’re correct we don’t use locals. If you knew the locals, you would understand it. Henry and Simon are great guys. They’re both professionals. Henry is an extremely sought after personal trainer in the UK and Simon is a professional rower. Locals, have no interest in customer service, have no interest in safety, and as much as we would like to be able to work with them, it’s impossible. Throughout the hospitality industry, in Montenegro, you frequently find people from abroad for these reasons. As a matter of principal, I’m happy to refund you, I don’t want money from an unhappy customer, and you can contact me to arrange that. The fact is that the bicycle tour is an authentic adventure and many people love it. The Kayak tour is also a true immersion in nature but only early in the morning, and we discourage people from going at any other time, out of principle, even when we are offered money to do it We are in seasonal industry 5 months long so we’re not in this because it’s lucrative. We enjoy when our clients have great experiences and we’re very concerned when they don’t. Sincerely, Jeffrey
This was really a great way to visit the blue cave and surrounding coastal area. Communication and making a reservation on Whatsapp was easy and informative. This week was extremely hot so we set out early (7am). There were two families (total 9 people) and the guides who were helpful, fun and relaxed. You need no prior experience. Rowing takes some effort, but nothing extraordinary. The blue cave is amazing. We kayaked into it and had plenty of time to snorkel (equipment provided). On the way back we visited a couple of other caves (one of them is totally dark, which was a very nice experience), and visited some spots were we could safely jump from the rocks into the water. We had a wonderful morning adventure. Thank you Armando, Augusto and Jim!
My daughter and I did the kayak excursion to the Blue Cave, and it was a fantastic experience. The small group made it feel personal and relaxed. Armando and Gusto were truly one of a kind—always attentive to the group, explaining the different sights along the way, and making it fun. They took great care of us, and Armando even gave us valuable tips for the rest of our trip. Highly recommended!
This tour is great for people wanting more than to just ‘drive’ from cave to cave. Kayaking along the sea was an amazing way to see the beauty of the Adriatic coastline. Setting off early also meant a lot of the crowds are missed. Armando was a knowledgeable and professional guide who was also very friendly and funny. I would highly recommend this tour :)
Generally, we were quite blown away with the beauty of Montenegro. The coast is stunning and the Balkan mountains surrounding the area is beautiful! The water is very clear and it was exhilarating to do such an active excursion. The water can be a bit rough, so if you get motion sickness, it can definitely cause a bit of nausea. Our tour guide was great and after we finished suggested for us to go up the cable car that overlooks the bay—which was an added bonus that we also really loved. Shuttles back Kotor are easy to navigate. Would definitely recommend this activity and place to anyone.
We were staying in Montenegro for 5 days and decided to book the Blue cave tour for one of the days as it was very recommended online. We decided to book with Montenegro+ due to the good reviews and it did not disappoint. Our guide tour Armando was awesome, from communication to information to vibes, he was incredible the whole time. He looked well after us and provided an amazing experience we’ll never forget. We couldn’t recommend him more!! He even shared some cool spots to visit and eat! Thank you so much!!
