Bioluminescent Bay Tour – La Parguera Ervaar een magische nachttour in La Parguera's Bioluminescent Bay op stabiele en milieuvriendelijke Chiliboats Water Bikes, ontworpen voor een soepele en comfortabele rit. Na een korte veiligheidsoriëntatie begint u aan een 20-25 minuten durende rit naar de baai, waar u ongeveer 30 minuten zult genieten van dit unieke natuurfenomeen voordat u terugkeert. Really cool experience. The guides were really knowledgeable, the experience was great and the bikes were in really good shape. The conditions could have been better with warmer water and a darker evening, but we saw the glowing in the most eco friendly way. Definitely recommend.

There was minimal bioluminescence because of a bright moon, but a very cool experience to pedal out to the mangroves at night. Guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and competent. We are 58 and 64 years old, in decent shape, and we found Chiliboats were easy to pedal.

This was an amazing experience. We were lucky to be able to book it during a new moon, so no moonlight to interfere with the bioluminescence. There were also almost no clouds, so we were able to see all of the stars since were out away from any city lights. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They'll guide you through how to manage the boats, etc...and the guides are very knowledgeable about the lagoon and the dinoflagellates. Paddling out to the bioluminescent part of bay took maybe 20-ish minutes, and we spent about 20-30 minutes there. It's pretty easy padding, especially with 2 people per "boat." You'll notice the glow in the water around the propeller before you officially arrive. It looks like someone cracked open a glowstick and dumped it in the water, a bit milky and subtle, and it lasts only as long as you agitate the water. You'll also see a few sparkles. In all the pictures I've seen the glow is blue, but for us it was actually white. The guide will tell you the color can vary depending on the environmental conditions. If you want to get away from noise and spend quiet time in the water surrounded by stars and a magical glow in the water, this is it. It was relaxing, tranquil, and fun.

This activity was a lot more difficult than I was expecting. It would be great for teens/young adults with lots of energy, buy for me, it was a struggle. You have to pedal a long was to get to the bio bay (and back) Unfortunately the conditions on the night we went were not great so we did not see much. (Of course, not Chillboats fault) The guides were great and I learned a lot about bioluminescence.

We give you a detailed description of the activity when booking so that you are aware and know what to expect; so yes, tour includes a 20–25 minute ride to the bay and the same time to return, which is part of the adventure; it is also recommended for participants with a basic level of fitness. There was moon light and still we saw bioluminescence, you even sat on the edge of the pontoon for the experience, but as mentioned it depends on natural conditions beyond our control, and it may vary each night. Be prepared to pedal a lot. It was fun overall but can be tiring if you are not prepared. You can not bring anything with you. Just phone in water pouch.
Thank you Cindy: That’s correct, the experience includes pedaling approximately 20–25 minutes to reach the bioluminescent bay. Once there, you’ll enjoy about 30 minutes in the bay before returning, all of which is part of the adventure. The pace is calm and accessible for most participants. This time may vary depending on wind conditions, which are part of the wonderful natural experience. But this information is provided before booking. We also recommend arriving 30 minutes early and following all instructions for your safety, as well as attending the initial briefing with navigation guidelines for the Chiliboats Water Bike, and the less you bring the better is the best way to enjoy nature around you!. As a water activity, it requires a basic level of physical effort to fully enjoy the experience. We're glad you think it was fun!
Wonderful experience. I was a little iffy about pedaling a floating bicycle boat in the ocean at night, but they made the experience feel very safe. We were able to see the Micro-organisms light up and we went to many different spots in the bay to see them multiple times. Excellent experience. Highly Recommend. I recommend wearing Swim clothes and water shoes, with a change of shoes once you get back. You can lock your stuff in your car as someone is there to watch the cars.

It makes us very happy that You enjoyed and we really appreciate you pointing out our efforts to share a great adventure with you and our easy to ride water bikes :) The use of comfortable cloth and water shoes is specified in all booking platforms; no need to pedal, but for the location and the rocky shore; about the bug spray, we understand bugs can annoy at certain times in the afternoons and its seasonal, when we go out, bugs stay at shore; unless you use an eco friendly bug spay, we don't recommend it, to avoid pollution in the Biobay :) We value your visit and recommendations!
