Bluff Lake is een verborgen Big Bear-geheim. Het is een van de mooiste gebieden in Big Bear Lake. Zoveel mensen die Big Bear-inwoners zijn, weten niet eens dat het hier is, vijf kilometer verderop op een afgelegen onverharde weg! Reizen naar dit verborgen wildernismeer met een lokale gids is een geweldige manier om enkele van de mooiste geheime wandelgebieden van Big Bear Lake te zien. Ik haal je groep op in mijn jeep en rijd je groep de bosweg op, waarbij ik je vertel over de planten die we onderweg zien en de interessante geschiedenis van de Big Bear Valley. Zodra we het Bluff Lake Reserve bereiken, gaan we voor een van de mooiste wandelingen in Big Bear Lake. Deze wandeling is kinderwagenvriendelijk voor degenen die een kinderwagen voor jonge kinderen willen meenemen.

Bluff Lake is een verborgen Big Bear-geheim. Sommige locals die al 15 jaar in Big Bear wonen, weten niet eens dat het hier is! Het is verreweg de mooiste plek in Big Bear om een ochtend in de natuur door te brengen.
Een ochtend in Bluff Lake is de beste manier om een dag in Big Bear door te brengen, ongeacht het seizoen! Onze tour begint met een rit naar Bluff Lake Reserve in mijn SUV. Van lente tot herfst leid ik wandelaars op tochten over Bluff Lake, het bovenste gedeelte van Castle Rock en Skyline Trail. De gemakkelijke versie van deze wandeling is ongeveer een wandeling van twee mijl over de grotendeels vlakke grond, niet veel hoogtewinst. Dit is een geweldige wandeling voor kinderen. We kunnen zelfs stoppen tijdens de wandeling en ik zal kinderen een beetje over onze lokale vlinders leren en hen de beste techniek leren om vlinders te fotograferen. We wandelen naar onze Champion Lodgepole Pine; Dat is de oudste en grootste boom in ons nationale bos. Als je de gematigde wandeling naar het bovenste deel van Castle Rock wilt doen (Castle Rock is het meest populaire pad in de Big Bear Valley), is deze wandeling beschikbaar tegen dezelfde prijs. Wij inwoners geven er de voorkeur aan om een minder bereisd pad te bewandelen, beginnend vanaf de top bij Bluff Lake naar Castle Rock. Het is mooier en geen drukke wandeling. Deze wandeling heeft veel meer hoogtewinst en is ongeveer 4 mijl heen en terug.

We had an amazing time on our Jeep tour and hike to Bluff Lake Preserve! Amber was super friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. She shared great fun facts and taught us so much about the local Lodgepole pines and beautiful wildflowers. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and are already looking forward to our next tour with her. Highly recommend!
The hike was amazing. Amber was very informative describing the landscape , plants and history. Definitely a must see , Bluff Lake and the hike was very invigorating and inspiring.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Amber. She obviously knows and loves this area very well and it shows. We had a wonderful time learning about the history of Holcomb Valley and the many types of plants and flowers.
We got to see a part of Big Bear that we never even knew existed. Absolutely beautiful locale and our guide, Amber, was full of information and really made the experience all the more memorable. The tour we originally booked was unavailable due to forest service closures, and Amber graciously offered to refund us, but also offered two other tours. We switched to the Eye of God tour, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be back to enjoy another tour with Amber.
We had a wonderful morning with Amber! She gave great directions for meeting with us, and she catered the hike to our preferences and the ages of people in our group! Amber knows a lot about the area, including the history, plants, and animals. She made it a great experience for all of us, and we will definitely go on a hike with her in the future!
We did the hike to Bluff Lake over the July 4th weekend and it was so worth it! First, Amber is so knowledgable about the trails, flora, and fauna. She shared so much information and history of the area as we did the hike, which we really appreciated. It really enriched and enhanced the whole experience for us. Second, she was really great with our two kids (10 and 13). I could tell my kids enjoyed the experience because my 10 year old was very chatty and asked many questions. Amber happily obliged, answered my kids' questions, and actively engaged in conversation with both of my kids. And the off rode drive up and back was a highlight for us too. Overall, this was a great adventure for our family. The hike itself is perfect for families (its not too strenuous) and it was really beautiful. The hike ended with some refreshing lemonade which Amber made and really hit the spot on a hot day. I highly recommend this tour with Amber.
